Re: ZomBcon 2013 - The "Never More" thread (renamed)

We talked about this a bit over the weekend. If we all pull together, we can make the Tacoma Zombpocalypse a proper three-day event to fill the vacuum. Might have to move it to Sea-Tac, if local options don't work out for the expansion...

It looks like we will know within the next couple of days whether ZomBcon 2013 is a go or not- last word is that they were short of the required funds to book everything. If ZomBcon 2013 ends up being a no-go, we will see if we can bump the 2013 Tacoma Zombie Festervalk and Preparedness Expo to a th...

Re: ONLY 19 DAYS LEFT 'TILL THE END OF THE WORLD!

With the world ending on the 21st, what are we going to do about it? We're going to have a really nice party. (and if the world doesn't actually end, at least we will have had a really nice party...) Just to prove I'm not jesting- you are all invited... http://www.tacomazombpocalypse.com/EOTW...

Re: Wintergeddon 2012/2013

Us Mausheims did a quick Saturday recon of another potential site. The bad news- it's way too wet for Wintergeddon. The good news- in the spring, the property owner is willing to put in a "several hundred yard" small arms range right there on the site. (You have to love private event land!) The site...

Re: Wintergeddon 2012/2013

Fort Canby is intriguing- nice cliffside views of the Pacific, and still a few concrete turn-of-the-last-century Coast Artillery emplacements to explore. That alone makes it appropriately post-apocalyptic...

Hmmm... let's see, within arm's reach? I see an X-Acto knife with dull blade, a pair of layout scissors, a small vernier caliper, - oh - and I almost forgot- a Browning Hi-Power with a full mag.

No kidding.

Then again, we didn't put any money up front for this project, so I guess we got what we paid for. We'll do it differently next year. :?

Excellent. The bug-out bartertown weekend is in the early planning stages now, time frame looks like late May- early June 2013. (not on a WAC or WSG weekend, of course.)

I'm a bit disappointed, myself- for exactly the same reasons.

I expected to see the completed book at the event, as per our agreement with the publishers.

Re: ZomBcon 2013 - The "It's never to early" thread (recycle

It's nice to see that the 2012 TACOMA ZOMBIE FESTERVAL and PREPAREDNESS EXPO had some influence bringing ZomBcon back- and ZomBcon is now showcasing a preparedness component that they didn't have before- and that is certainly a good thing. Not too sure about them taking our same weekend, though- we ...

Re: New BOV options under 25K?

A new BOV that's under 25K? You could try a Jeep Patriot... It's a bit on the small side, but cubes out well when you stuff it, with a highway mileage around 30 mpg... (I wish Jeep still offered the diesel option!) The basic Sport model, with manual transmission and 4WD should keep you well under 25...

The coolest of the lot are the "bulldogs"

^^I second that very much.^^

The shortened Ishapore "Bulldog" (or "tanker") is the basis of my budget scout rifle. Very handy, and quite effective.

Heh. We love seeing all of the nice write-ups that have been coming in. And a special "thank you" goes out to EMMT911- not only did they teach two classes as scheduled, but also volunteered to teach a third class when we had an instructor no-show! Absolutely. These "tanker" Ishapores make excellent "scouts on a budget".
