Re: The Coming Civil War

Ya know, if this thread is just going to devolve into a discussion of <racial group A> and <racial groups B, C, D, E, F>, <political fringe A> and <political fringes B,C,D,E,F>, the LGBTQQIP2SAA community/communities and how each is/isn't properly represented in statistics/news media/social media/ci...

Re: The Coming Civil War

This political shit is....it's shit. <mod hat> Agreed. I think it's time we all , myself included, dial the political side back just a notch or two. Contingency and planning is one thing, comparisons of the sides goes beyond that. Extremism in any form is usually a bad thing but it gets especially ...

Vox editorial tells the left to gun up. https://www.vox.com/first-person/2019/7/1/18744204/guns-gun-control-anarchism Since it is Vox a lot of it is made up rhetoric with old right hating tropes and fantasies. However a few things caught my eye. Not everyone should have access to guns — domestic ab...

Re: Cell Service

There are some problems with repurposing non-functional cell towers in a SHTF scenario, starting with it being illegal trespassing. That alone is enough to nix this conversation in the bud, at least here on ZS. Then there's the fact that a non-functional tower is very likely to become functional aga...

Was really hoping mine would come in before I went on a trip this weekend, but sadly it did not.

Keep trying to convince my husband to also sign up and order one, but he doesn't want to :(
They're out of them now. I tried to get my wife to order one but the offer was over. :(

I haven't watched a Nutnfancy video in a real long time. I think the last one I watched was the one where he talked about someone breaking into his truck and stealing some stuff. In other news, I got my Geissele Super Charging handle in the mail the other day. I think I found the charging handle I'...

Forgot to mention: One Body outline 1/2" AR500 target It was a last-minute Prime Day purchase that I regret because I didn't take the time to actually think about it and realize the price was far, far too low for what I thought I was buying. Amphibs tend to take no shit. I know, I served aboard one. If the drone was at 1,000 yards it was well within the security perimeter and needed to be taken out. Normal perimeter would be a lot wider, a mile or more, depending on the threat. That it got in that close shows we used a helluva...

I got mine in this afternoon's mail and so far it's pretty impressive. Nice small size, good light output, solid construction. I also note that while the light is rated for 45 minutes using alkaline batteries, it's also rated for 70 minutes using NiMh rechargeables, which I just happen to have and p...

EU’s satellite navigation system fully offline

EU’s satellite navigation system fully offline Single point of failure anyone? While this isn't as bad as it has the potential to be since it's still a pretty new system and most users still have other satnav capabilities, that could change in the future if some users decide to go with just the new...

I'm just going to mention that if you hit any "glow-in-the-dark" item (anything "hi-viz" too but even more so) with a laser pointer (blue is best) it lights up like a flare going off. Something to keep in mind when searching for such things at night or in the dark.

Well, I just placed my order for a new charging handle for my AR. Ended up going with a Geiselle Super Charging handle instead of the Radian Raptor-LT. The Geiselle was only a couple bucks more than the Raptor-LT, so I placed my order and hopefully I'll have my new charging handle within the next f...

Meh... It's only a very small part of Manhattan and an even smaller part of the city as a whole. Hardly DICEworthy but since it made headlines I'll let it stay for the 6 or so hours it'll take for my brothers & sisters of Local 3 to get power back online.

Re: Moab bought a '99 Jeep Wrangler TJ!

You're right, DOT doesn't do any testing (at least not the USDOT, various state DOTs may), instead they rely on the SAE which does test, and rather extensively. Sort of the automotive version of Underwriters Laboratories. And no, I don't think I'm the one who said that at least not that I can remem...

May I ask that you, please, not skimp on the LED headlights? Yeah, some of the knock-offs are awesome and indistinguishable from the name brands, but dazzling other drivers with bad lights can have deadly consequences. Go for the good ones with genuine SAE and DOT certs and be safe. We'd like to ke...
