Re: My 45acp Mauser build

I missed answering the question on if the reciever had to be milled out for the new extractor. Yes I had to to make the gun function to my likings but it isn't necessary. I did route out the barrel channel to gain clearance and I intend on bedding the action when it is complete. I hope in another we...

Re: My 45acp Mauser build

Update on this project. I have been able to make it feed hp rainier bullets which was really all I wanted to make it do since they are my range round. I ordered in sights for it but will have to modify them a bit. I ordered sights for a k98 thinking this barrel was the same contour but they came in ...

Re: Some kydex knife sheaths I just finished

Knifekits.com seems to be the best pricing if you aren't buying anything more than a few feet at a time. I use almost all .080 thickness for everything I make except neck knife sheaths are .060 thickness. I also recommend the heavier material for making the belt loops out of. I will try and get some...

Some kydex knife sheaths I just finished

I am still trying to figure out a good design on the 4 neck knife sheaths if anyone has any input. Input on any of them would be great actually.

I am a huge fan of cane corso mastiffs. They need attention though and need socialized to be good around people. I would never just leave mine outside though she is to attached to us to not let her inside with us.

Re: An attempt at a small of back holster

I ran through the motion of drawing from that position a bunch of times before I finally settled on an angle. I molded it for a glock 26 and I think it feels smooth to draw from and reholster. I will wear it around a bit and see how I like it in a few days.

An attempt at a small of back holster

This was my first attempt at making a small of back holster out of kydex. I'm not real satisfied with the length of the rig but it is actually comfortable when it's on.

Re: My 45acp Mauser build

I still haven't been able to make it feed hp rounds yet. I need to remove a bit more material from the feed ramp and then I'm going to polish it up and see if that does it. I think I am going to remove some material from the stock to bring the receiver and trigger guard/mag well closer together sinc...

I believe it does have two angles on the feed ramp so I am going to try and level it out and see i...

Re: My 45acp Mauser build

A suppressor has already been strongly considered. I was thinking about getting one for my 458 socom and figured I could run it on this beast also. I have only fired about a dozen rounds through this so far trying to get everything running smooth. I think I am going to have to find a way to extend t...

Re: My 45acp Mauser build

I still have a lot of work to do to finish the gun up but I am moving along nicely I think. I still need to modify the feed ramp and get the extractor shaped a bit better.

My 45acp Mauser build

Here is a small ring Mauser that was in pretty bad shape that I am trying to bring back to life as a 45acp. http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w491/handicop101/B36247F7-7355-4DEA-9282-E57EAF982322-10447-00000C2BDAB3DAF0_zpsb174924c.jpg http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w491/handicop101/3301B209-8...

Re: Midsized trucks

I really like my gmc canyon. I have put 212,000 miles on it so far. I have only had to do routine maintainence so I can not complain one bit about the reliability of the 3.5 motor. I will say towing with it does make me wish for more power sometimes.
