Re: Firearms CHAT, the whateverth

Tried out some of that newfandangled Froglube today. No chance to shoot with it yet, but it feels lubey as fuck, and the pleasant smell of wintergreen is not to be understated. Previous owner of my Glock used Militec CLP in it, and my gun smelled like ass despite all the Hoppes 9 I could soak it in...

Re: Interesting Colt Python / TWD article on LuckyGunner

It was a good article... but they failed to question Rick's habit of drawing the gun and holding it above his line of sight and pointing it downwards. HSLD operator? or is he like 7 feet tall? Just sayin' bro. Dick! It took me years to purge the memory of that fucking movie and you just subjected i...

Re: The baddest Custom Billet Aluminum lower I've ever seen

I'l go out and be that guy, I think it looks hideous. I would own it if it was cheaper than a usual lower and all I could find. As stated above, it would be nice if he dedicated his machining skills to something useful this time. ETA: Instead of just detracting, I'll play. Zero increase in perceived...

Re: Taking planning and prep seriously, where to start?

I stand all kinds of corrected. We have no flood insurance. We are in a moderate to low risk area, so it looks like <$50 a month for basic coverage. Not too bad.

Re: Taking planning and prep seriously, where to start?

Lots of great replies, thank you all. I'm pretty sure our homeowner's insurance covers flood damage, I will have to double check. We own the home, but pay lot rent, so it is stupid cheap to live here. I will have to double check that though. I am kind of confused. You are currently taking college cl...

Re: Taking planning and prep seriously, where to start?

Thanks for the input Kevlar. In a realistic situation, a house flood at my home would be the most likely disaster. My city has had minor floods before, but nothing serious. It has gotten pretty wet here before to where our driveway was covered by a couple inches of water, but that was still feet awa...

Re: What was your first Handgun?

A Springfield Armory USGI style no frills 1911 I scored for a song. Beat it all to shit, put about 1500 rounds though it, carried it a while, and traded it straight across for a USP .45 Fullsize. I miss that USP....

Taking planning and prep seriously, where to start?

I'm in an interesting spot. My family is doing ok as far as basic preps go, my parents have a few months worth of food at their house, and I have been stocking firearms and ammo for a while now. Thanks to my need to practice and ammo supplies right now, I'm running a bit lower than I would like. Nei...

They have a lot of love for us. Colorado is an amazing place with amazing people and they wouldn't leave under any other circumstance. I'll consider packing up myself for the same reasons.

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms rela

A brand new Glock 17 Gen 3. Had to scour every gun store in northern Colorado all the way down to central Colorado, but I finally found one. Bought it at a semi-rapey price of $650 because people on Armslist were selling their used shit for $750 and I had just had a firsthand view of the Glock inven...

Re: What have you SOLD since the CT shootings?

Sold my first gun, a beat-to-shit Remington 597 with all the Archangel and UTG mallninja shit I could possibly put on it for a 250% profit. Took good pictures so it looked "scary as fuck" with its giant extended banana-strip-drum-clip-hoppers and airsoft grade shit. I was sad to sell my first gun, b...

Re: Magpul Leaving Colorado;mag deal for Colorado residents

I already have a ton of love for Magpul, and this just drives it in even harder. I hate the thought of them leaving state, I know a couple of people who worked menial jobs there, and I love their products. I am ecstatic to see they have our back.

Re: keep my $900 gun or get two $450 guns???

Lots of good logic, and I'll offer my 1/4 cent. I have zero family background in firearms, so the "heirloom" gun is a cool idea in my head. I also come from an "interesting" family to say the least. That being said, if my Gramps carried that thing, staked his life on on, and died with it on his hip,...

Re: ALL Purpose Magazine thread.

A question for some of the guys here, why does the 20 round AR mag seem to be coming into fashion again? I'm seeing more and more newer pics sporting the 20 rounders, and and just curious as to what the draw is.

Re: Which Glock? (G19, Duh!!)

Only real "malf" I had was on Friday. I had put in the Ghost Ultimate 3.5lb connector to see what that was all about. Twice, it basically went FA, and shot a 2 round burst before I took my finger off. That sucker came out immediately. That's some scary stuff! Guys have been killed when guns do that ...

Re: What's a better gun, a Glock or a Mac-10?

I'll be real honest, that M-11 is perhaps the worst pistol Ive ever shot in my life. The sights are terrible, the trigger slap is so bad that the trigger IS COATED IN PLASTIC, and the whole thing lurches on every round because of the ridiculous weight of the blowback bolt and the height of the bore...

Benny Hill, yo. Benny Hinn is a televangelist. :D
Either would be humorous.

Re: What's a better gun, a Glock or a Mac-10?

Other than finger fucking a few at gun shows in the past I've never handled an M11. How concealable is it and is there a holster for it? Other than the usual "accuracy, cost, ergonomics, ..." I find it important (and in the ergonomics column) in how it can be carried on me. All I have ever seen is ...

Re: What's a better gun, a Glock or a Mac-10?

This thread hits close to home, because my redneck buddy just scored an ancient MAC11 and is a major Glock hater for whatever reason. So he always has this Budweiser fueled desire to have the "MAC11 vs G17RTF2" debate right after the "Why the fuck should I bother calling it a magazine debate . Can't...

Re: Which Glock? (G19, Duh!!)

What Gen is this gun? Is the recoil spring seated right? I swear ZS has the worst luck with 19s. I've never even had anything close to a malf with mine. Not to rub it in Hatch, but I'm with RG. Granted, I've only got 1100 rounds through mine, but it's run everything I've put through it thus far. Ha...
