Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

It's hard to beat the value of a Mora. Does stainless work with fire steel? I have tried a Mora in the past for lighting a fire with fire steel and wasn't able to get a spark. Now this was one of the cheap Moras and it's possible they use a different steel than their more expensive models. Not that...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

Our schools are still closed in the state, liquor stores closed last night. Movies, malls, all closed. Dine in food is closed, even Sheetz had yellow caution tape around the tables this morning. My company can work from home on a limited basis starting Monday, and we are splitting up into two shifts...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

My company goes on "lockdown" Monday. Only employees are allowed thru the gate. Outside visitors will have to fill out a form asking about health. Delivery truck drivers have to leave deliveries on loading dock, they aren't allowed in the building. On the school news. All schools closed for 10 days....

There is also Remington managed recoil ammunition. It is available in .308 and .30-06, among others. I have used it in .30-06 and it is much milder.

Re: fire extinguishers

As for vehicle storage, I kept one in my Jeep when I had that. Just be sure it is secured well in case of accident or as I found out, mine came loose and rolled under the front passenger seat. As someone was pushing the seat back after people got in the back seat, it caught the pin which pulled out...

Re: New prep room

My guess to what the room was used for would be coal storage. Look in the exterior wall and see if there is something patched up that could have been about window sized for a door that opened outside for them to dump coal in.

I've used quite a bit of Wolf steel cased .30 carbine, and haven't noticed any increased wear or any stoppages.

Re: Help me find a good EMPTY FAK for the home/car

After searching and asking around here for one for my car, I found my original size limits were too small, so I have this one now in my car.

Re: Most calories in a standard can: Roast Beef Hash

After reading this, I HAD to go out and get a can last night. I got the Mary's Kitchen and fried it up in the skillet. Ate it over toast, I was pleasantly surprised after the smell of opening. I had tried it earlier this year, but I got the Armour brand, and don't think it was cooked long enough, ba...

Re: Glasses?

I've been teetering back and forth on the idea of Lasik for years. If I remember correctly, my insurance will even cover it. But that whole "sharp thing coming at my eye" thing... I know it creeps most people out (my eye doctor said as much when I mentioned it to her) but it is one step shy of a ph...

Re: Hearing protection?

I got a pair of the Howard Leight's mentioned in this thread.
Any tips on getting them to fit properly? I can't seem to get them to seal at the bottom of my ears. I do wear glasses but they are very thing arms.
Thanks!

SAM Splint vs Non SAM name Splint

Are genuine SAM splints better? I found these it says by MM Medical http://www.amazon.com/36-Inch-Padded-Aluminum-Splint/dp/B00124QUH0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=CGSGGH9BO6DX&coliid=I3KK3ESFVR3QKK" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Which are half the price of a genuine one. I am looking to have a combo, but more so toward the "boo boo" type with a few things towards trauma, such as I wanted to add a sam splint or two, and a couple of the israeli bandages.

Re: Looking for kit or just box/bag for my car

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. That M9 is nice, but more than I can really spend on a just a bag. Those fold up bags maybe I could use them and something else as well, are they big enough to hold larger items such as Israeli bandages? With the Zee kit, it seems like it is full, is there room t...

Looking for kit or just box/bag for my car

I'm looking for either a kit or a first aid box/bag to put in the back of my car, above the spare tire. There is a foam compartment there. My max space is 23.5" Long, 10.5" high and 4" deep. I don't need iv kits or anything like that as I would do more harm with them, but just some basic things and ...
