If its gonna be a play toy, and you got the money to do what you want to do with it, then do it to it! Rock crawler the hell out of it.

Re: What do you think? what should I do ?

The possibilities are endless. This is exactly the kind of vehicle we look for to build our paintball assault vehicles because you can do any thing with them. You can get extreme like the trugg you were thinking about doing. I actually like the van body ideal. I've always liked the 4x4 slightly rais...

Re: fire extinguishers

They are inert, filled with nitrogen. Wont have to worry with the pressure rising. Only thing I'd be concerned is that it might freeze up or something. The high end of the temp scale shouldnt hurt it. The pressure in nitrogen rises with temperature just like in any other gas. Yeah I guess that is t...

Re: Need help determining how old this food is

Looks like a nice find. Like the other poster said, email or call the manufacturer and they can tell you how to tell when it was manufactured.

Why do I never find stuff like that...? ha!

Re: fire extinguishers

I worry that the extremes of temperature in my car (which lives outside all year and sees temps from -40F in winter to 140F in summer) could either render the extinguisher ineffective or lead to it kabooming (I once had that happen with a fix-a-flat, and it was horrible). Jamie They are inert, fill...

Re: fire extinguishers

Its good to have a couple. A small 2.5 in the kitchen and a 5 or 10 pounder in case of serious issues. First Alert and Kiddies are good. Just remember the basics, P.A.S.S. Pull Aim Squeeze Sweep. Pull the pin, aim at the base of the fire, squeeze the handle and sweep the nozzle back and forth.

Re: Finally able to store food, where do I begin?

I do Mountain House and Thrive foods now, but starting out I bought a little more of the regular stuff I eat at the grocery store. I still do. Its still the best way to do it. What ever is on sale, green beans, Chef Boyardee, what ever. Buy a few extra cans. But keep track of the dates on the cans. ...

Re: Found me a Sub2000

Those Scouts are not light. A friend had one he was selling a few months back. Surprised me the weight. Surprised me what they go for too. Yeah, I've been wanting one of the Sub's for awhile and for the most part have the extra cash to get it. Since the stores are getting plenty of AR's in and at a ...

Re: Suppressed Ruger MK III & Optics Question

Unless you're rocking an 8"+ barrel regular bulk pack shit is going to be sub-sonic regardless; no real point in investing in subs with a pistol. Thats what I was gonna say. The standard velocity stuff is gonna be sub sonic unless you're using a longer barrel. You wont have to worry about sub sonic...

I think I'd go for the 4H in this particular situation. You learn a lot of good stuff from them, and a lot of it is directly related to the things we do as preppers.

Re: Anything beat burial w/ 55 gal Brut trashcans & 7mil myl

I think the blue 55 gallon drums that has the lid seal would be the optimal ideal. But if your not worried about the lid sealing in the trash can, toss the lid on and wrap that sucker with a whole lot of duct tape. It will seal it for awhile, until it dry rots. Long enough for the dirt to settle aro...

Yeah, thats why I havent bought anything until now. It pains me to do it, but once these guns have went up in price, they probably arent gonna come down a whole lot. I have "wants" and you gotta pay for them to become "gots".

Re: Are there any AK-47s for sale at a reasonable price anym

^^ It's my understanding that the maadi's in general if put together right with a proper receiver and barrel are decent all around ak. The maadi parts are made on Russian equipment in Cairo or some shit, so basically pretty darn good. I use to have a Maadi with the thumb hole stock. That was twelve...

Re: New SKS and my plan for it

Wouldn't you be better off trying to trade this "upgraded" version for a standard one and some $, instead of trying to undo the work the previous owner has done? I'm pretty sure you could get the $ you need to buy some new sights etc. I have to go with this. Sell or trade this for some jack and get...

Found me a Sub2000

I hit the local pawn shop yesterday to kill some time. First Sub2000 I have seen in a store in well over a year. $600, in near new condition, has the box and all the paper work. Wasnt crazy about the price but I have been wanting a PCC for awhile. Should have got it a year ago but oh well. I laid it...
