Re: Suburban Family Tornado Shelter and Preparation.

The shelter is really pretty cool and your overall planning ahead for your family's safety says a lot about you in a positive way. Hopefully you never have to use it...but think of adding a large screen tv, a small comfy chair and you have an emergency man cave! :awesome:

Re: Shemaghs?

I first started using them on my first deployment and thought they were okay. I really came to appreciate them on my second deployment when I didn't have to wear my ACH(kevlar) all the time. I think they are great for desert use in terms of comfort and protection from the elements...not bullets.

Re: 590/590A1 questions

My action was stiff when I first received mine (Christmas gift from wifey.) but after cycling the action for awhile it really helped. I haven't had any problems with it in the last ten years of owning it. I think you will really enjoy having it around.

Re: I am shopping for a Lever rifle

I have a 45LC lever gun/pistol combo that I think works great together. It came about thanks to my wife. She bought me a Ruger 45LC pistol for Christmas one year as a gift. Then later the next year when one of the k-mart stores was getting rid of their guns she bought me the Winchester Cowboy rifle ...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

Good show...even the wifey liked it. She's tough on zombie flicks...they have to have a plot and have actors who can act. :?

Re: Take Down Lever Actions

Nice but way too pricey for me. I wouldn't mind owning one since I already own a Winchester "Cowboy" in 45LC. The Winchester that I own I only paid 200.00 for which I purchased from Walmart. I just couldn't justify the cost of spending so much for a take down lever action. Yes... I'm being c...

Re: RUGER KP95PR

I've owned mine for years. I actually carried it as my off-duty for about two years before I went to the Glock 19-C. It was reliable and I figured if I ever ran out of ammo I could use it as a club if needed.

Lets make the meetings more like a social event!

This is just a thought about the meetings. Why not try to make them more of a social gathering. Then as time goes on we can make them include survival prep. (I've been away for awhile in the sandbox and couldn't make any meetings so I was out of the loop.) I'm pretty sure that as we get to know each...

Re: surplus 7.62x54 safe?

It should be safe to use in your rifles. I'ved fired nothing but military surplus through my rifles without ever having a problem. The Albanian surplus that I've used had some small marks on them also but they worked just fine. Just inspect the casings after you fire the first initial ones to see if...

Re: S&W and Walther's & .22LR

I own a couple of the S&W 22A's and have experience with the Ruger and Walther. You really can't go wrong with any of them. I own the S&W's because the wife bought them for me as gifts. I originally was going for the Ruger or Walther but couldn't make my mind up so the wife did for me. My wife...
