Re: Ala-F*ckin-Bama?

I will be moving back to Tuscaloosa August 15th or so, roughly a week before classes start. A weekend after that would work for me, as I'll only have classes mon-fri.

Dave, you're rather close to me. I'm back in Baldwin County for the summer now, going to Auburn for my sister's graduation tomorrow though. It feels good to be home.

Re: 1991 C1500 Silverado build*slowly*

AHA! More mishaps and breakdowns! The truck is currently running, but i have quite a problem. When the truck is started cold at idle, theres a popping in the exhaust, over the course of maybe two seconds it follows the pattern pop.......poppop..pop, then about a second of no popping, then it repeats...

Re: "THE BUMBLE" Build. project slow go. My jeep build threa

Best advice: Buy one with a lifetime warranty, play all you want, and hose it off before you take it in for the replacement. Also, picked up a rebuilt alternator for my truck over the summer, basically they replace everything but the case, so it's pretty much a new alternator for $50 less. It even c...

So got my ears blessed with the lovely noise of metal to metal grinding today. This is what I discovered when I removed my front driverside wheel: http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/9386/photo0136i.jpg This is a side view. I have been so focused on keeping the truck running I had forgotten about this....

Re: 1991 C1500 Silverado help

If taken care parts can last that long, suspension/steering parts are either replaced because of modification or lack of care. A lot of people take their vehicles to quick oil change places who miss half the grease fittings so the joints dry out and wear. If your going to life the front then lift t...

Re: 1991 C1500 Silverado help

Kinda repurposing this thread to be my "Build thread", rather than start a new one. General advice and such will be sought and whatnot. Finally found complete dimensions on front springs today, so that I may do a bit of roundabout lifting. uncompressed springs are 15" tall, about 4.5" wide, and have...

I'm runnin 31"x10.5x15 on mine. putting spring spacers on as soon as I get the cash for an alignment, and in the 3 years I've owned this truck most everything has been replaced. Tranny rebuilt (4 speed auto), flywheel, starter(actually first thing I ever did to the thing), new joints (all of them, U...

Re: 1991 C1500 Silverado help

Hell yeeeeee man. Poked around, it's the stock cap. On a 1991 pickup, 236k miles. This ruck was ridiculously stock when I got it. Ball joints, tie rods, U-joints, everything factory original. I don;t know how all that crap lasted that long.

Didn't notice any play in the shaft, wasn't specifically looking for it though. Got the new cap on, here's what the old one looked like: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3183/photo0129j.jpg That hole in the center should have about a half inch of plastic with the metal contact poking out. Re: 1991 C1500 Silverado help

Well, the ICM was still good, somehow. There was more sh*t caked up on that thing than a cantina toilet. Put the injector assembly back together, and one of the injectors was working, but the other was clicking loudly and not spraying, dropped that $80 and they both work now, still not cranking up. ...
