Re: Anything useful for empty tobacco tins?

Provided that you possess all the correct certifications and licenses, they can be packed with explosives and used as a breaching charge. :)

Hello, and welcome to ZS! Out of curiosity, are you the person I spoke to at an ER the other night, about this site?

Fund raiser for coworkers son injured in dog attack

Fellow ZS'res, the 5 year old son of a coworker was severely injured when he was attacked by the families 120 lbs Mastiff on May 6th. He received bites along the length of both legs, one of which tore an artery, as well as bites to his abdomen. He had to be flown by helicopter to a children's hospit...

Seeking Prepper friendly Realtor in Missouri

I am currently seeking out property in southern Missouri. It would be ideal if I could use a prepper friendly realtor that understands what I am looking for in regards to type of property, location, natural resources, ability to be self sufficient, etc... Can anyone please refer me to one? I live in...

Travel to Europe Fall of 2014

Hello all! Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide. My wife and I are planning a trip to Europe for fall of this year, October/November roughly. The longest we can be gone is 19 days, that includes travel days to/from CONUS (Chicago). We will fly in to Dublin, and spend roughly 4-5 d...

Role Player Assistance needed in September

I know this is way in advance, but I wanted to get the word out to the St Louis Chapter so you could set the dates aside if needed. My SWAT team is hosting an advanced hostage rescue course from Sept. 30th-October 3rd, 2014. Hours would be daytime hours, with the possibility of one night session. Th...

Re: 10.5" bbl for ACR availability

To each their own. Braxton, pm me your cell phone number and I will contact you the next time I head to the range. You are more than welcome to come out. Truth be told, the SCAR was my top pick, but I just couldn't scrounge the extra $500 at the time, so the ACR was the next best bet. "Who cares if ...

Re: 10.5" bbl for ACR availability

@ Undead Infidel - Yes, about 24 years ago, 25 miles each day for 2 days. Administrative humps, battalion strength in the hills of Camp Pendleton. The only time I've ever done that kind of distance, most were shorter.

Re: 10.5" bbl for ACR availability

Just posting info for people that may be interested, no need to start bashing. I have had my ACR for a year now, not one problem with it after about 2500 rounds. I am heading to Mid South soon where I will put at least another 2500 rds through it in a weeks time. I understand there were issues on ea...

10.5" bbl for ACR availability

For those that are interested, I just got off the phone with Bushmaster in reference to the 10.5" bbl's for the ACR. The CS rep advised that the barrels have passed all quality control tests and are currently in production. They will be available for sale in 1-2 months.

A huge thank you to the ZS StL members that came out and role played for us! Your participation helped in a big way, I could not have been happier with everyone that assisted that night. I apologize for the down time, it was the first time for a couple of the guys to put something that big together ...

Very good points, I did not know that bacteria would get in through the dents! I believed the seal would have to be broken, thank you very much for educating me :) Learning something every day!

Discounted canned goods

***Mods, not sure where this should go, please place where you think it's appropriate*** Was recently informed by my daughter, who works for Schnucks, that her store will put dented canned goods in a cart and have the prices drastically marked down. She stated they usually just sell them for .50 cen...

Role Players Needed for SWAT training

Greetings StL ZSers! This is Jon from the SWAT team on the metro east side. Our team is planning its annual "hell night" training evolution wherein we push the team to its limits over a 24 hour period. Part of that training includes Sim scenarios, and a complex hostage rescue/WMD operation at the en...

Re: I Got Shot 3 Days Ago.

Purely a guess on my part, but I am also using past professional experience when formulating this guess. The officer was probably taking your demeanor into account, and was quite possibly mulling over having you armed during the extraction process. I have had a couple of incidents in the past where ...

Re: Fires in CO and UT force TENs of Thousands to Evacuate

@ Tookie, I don't think you need a tinfoil hat. During many of my anti-terror classes, the prospect of terrorists using wildfires as a way to damage our economy is always brought up, along with many other types of attacks. For those that don't recall their history, the Japanese tried this during WWI...

Re: Do Your Kids Know Their Rights?

Squinty - I agree with you, unannounced drills like the one described serve no purpose and are a recipe for disaster! I fail to see how any learning objectives can be met. Scenarios should be carefully constructed so that the LO's are met, and the scenario is SAFE for everyone involved, I hate it wh...

Re: Do Your Kids Know Their Rights?

From a first responder point of view, here is the problem with children and cell phones in schools: In the event of a true emergency (active shooter for example), not only are 9-1-1 lines nearly instantaneously overwhelmed, parents are also called en masse, who in turn rush to the campus. While as a...
