Re: A-TACS AU Versus A-TACS FG

I spent summers around St. Louis and remember a lot of Evergreens, but perhaps that was just the area around Florissant, its been a while. These guys put out some photos of someone using FG in a similar environment. It is a temperate pattern so generally meant for Forests, Jungles, Etc. I don't miss...

Re: A-TACS FG Combat Shirt

The combat shirt was a bit spendy at $70, but the bdu pants were just $45.

Re: A-TACS FG Released

They could definitely use an inbetween pattern for those midwest/southern states. I am digging the Pencott Badlands as a versatile pattern. Since they put in a submission for the army camouflage contest, I would assume a-tacs has something under their belt for a match to multicam. ie both brown and ...

I have seen Marine scout snipers wearing multicam now too, so perhaps they are drinking the kool-aid.

Re: Combat XII-MEC Pack - Pencott camo

It is interesting how the Army and Navy Camo is based on MARPAT with different colors and it turned out so wrong. Even though the Marines got it right.

Re: Combat XII-MEC Pack - Pencott camo

Camouflage designers want to take movement into consideration. Obviously troops are not going to be hanging around. Good Camo should deceive the eyes in perceiving the shape and size of an object from different directions, however some items are easier to pick up on like a round human head. This is ...

Re: Combat XII-MEC Pack - Pencott camo

MultiCam looks great, but it seems to have limitations. A-TACS now hows both sides of the spectrum. And this PenCott Camo has three styles to have one on each side and one in the middle. I guess you go with what works in your area.

Combat XII-MEC Pack - Pencott camo

It has been a while since I have seen this camouflage around. Here are some of the photo of a combat pack in the different camouflage. Does anyone have anything in this pattern yet? Do you like it? Took the photos from AR15News.com http://www.ar15news.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/PenCott-Badlands-...

This is a very unique pattern, I definitely will be checking who offers what. They listed all of the places to buy A-TACS under a Where to Buy Section. I just hope all of them carry the new pattern too.

Re: combat sustainment pack

Bulldog Equipment has an awesome covert bailout bag which carries over 10 mags, but it is massive. When I think combat sustainment, I think several mags, but nothing too bulky. Plus enough space for water, a little chow, and extra mags inside. I guess it is all semantics anyhow.

Do they rub your toes funny? I checked into these for a size 14 at a store and they said they didn't make them in my size. Plus I tried socks like this and that inbetween the toe fit was annoying.

It looks like the solicitation is over as of now, and the evaluation is in place. Or is there a newer article about this? It is just starting. The Army released the camo solicitation last week. Here is a full write up with the solicitation: http://blog.predatorbdu.com/2011/04/us-army-camouflage-imp...

No word as of yet on the pricing.

ETA: Their multi-cam goes for $50 on an ACU top, so I expect the ATAC pattern will be about the same.

Back from the Dead: You were close $59.99, just saw this over at Soldier Systems ACU Pricing
