Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

I've been mulling over a 45acp AR for years, but there aren't any options I'm happy with. A USC45/UMP45 conversion would be ideal if I could afford it right now.

Re: Ammunition stockpiling: questions re: quality and quant

I stockpile XM193 for range use, and PRVI 75gr BTHP for SHTF. I got WAY more PRVI than I could ever imagine having back in the day. Have 2000 rounds of it sitting there for any sort of oh shit use. I use Prvi 75gr OTM, too. Any ideas how it does in gel? 14.5-16" bbls. There are only spotty test res...

Because there doesn't seem to be much love for the BCM Gunfighter stock around the web, and I love it.... oh, and that "firearms in action" thread is necro territory at this point.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

It was a bit "meh". I, too, actually remarked at the start of the show that they managed to keep five living black members in the group, and sure enough they killed one of the men before the show was out. Same ole story. I was actually kind of getting sick of Tyreese and his constant emo-ness anyway...

Rebuilt my old carbine, because it was heavy as fuck and sitting around not getting much use. Already ran it through a carbine course and it was 100% solid. Loving the SLR adjustable block. I'm back to running a nib standard carbine bcg and buffer and recoil is nonexistent now. Pretty sure this is m...

Re: Basic Fitness for Firearms Enthusiasts and Other Humans

First time I've actually read this thread. Interesting stuff... let me just say that none of this is really going to condition you for holding a rifle at the ready for long periods of time. For instance, I can currently bench almost 400, can knock out 25+ USMC style pull ups (no kipping), shoulder p...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Anyone here currently running the JP Enterprise Silent Capture buffer system? My latest "go to" build has a brake and adjustable block, and I've got this fascination with smoothing out the operation as much as possible. Thinking it might run well with my standard carbine weight bolt carrier for a ni...

I have a couple Ares Armor slings lying around per recommendation and they work great. People at classes and shooting days always ask me what it is and where to get one.

Re: Target Transitioning Help

If I had to work with fewer rounds, I'd actually come to a ready between all transitions to get more repetition in quick target acquisition. That, and work with more actual range to force yourself to focus on accuracy and fundamentals. Anyone can hit a target doing feel-good hammer drills from 20 ya...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

I had an issue with my Troy alpha rail being slightly canted, but I think it had to do with the 3-screw mounting system not liking the barrel nut I had (which was also Troy).

Been there, done that. Nothing worse than forgetting your mags. haha

I usually forget at least one thing when I go the range, whether it be tape, a stapler, a sharpie, or my mags.

Re: Disguising a gun cabinet?

Go buy a heavy steel Job Box or equivalent from a hardware store. They're used to store tools on work sites.

Put a rug or table cloth over it and use it as a coffee table. It'll also be WAY more secure, and cheaper, than that crappy Stack On RSC you're talking about getting.

Hey Undead, what optic are you running on that? Appears to be a T-1... orro. I assume T-1 if he has tax stamp money. Caps don't appear to be from an AP Micro. However, if it isn't a SHTF setup I don't see anything wrong with that. Exactly. It's a Primary Arms micro and it works fantastic for this s...
