Re: CRKT m16 worth the money?

I apologize for ressing a dead post but I have some insight that I would like to impart on these knifes as I have carried one everyday for the past 3+ years. When I first found this knife it was the smoothest opening knife that I had handled out of that pricerange. I was impressed. The guy at my loc...

Re: Kel-Tec sub 2000- perfect BOG?

You can easily place 9mm into dog/deer sized targets at 100 yards with a pistol, I need to have my gun on something solid but its possible and Im a crappy shot. Is a 9mm bullet less lethal at 100yds than an arrow? Its better than nothing. Sure there are better choices but even the shittiest weapon n...

Re: This just happened to me

Thanks for the responses. Condition 1 gun is a must. I definitely learned a lot from what happened and from the responses. Also my neighbor gave me his old alarm system because he upgraded. So I am going to install that, get some cameras and maybe a trail/game camera. I think you guys are right, tho...

Re: This just happened to me

Yea, I have no idea what to think about it. Nothing taken, all I can think of is someone scared them away or my decrepit dog actually did her job when she realized someone was doing harm to my house, she was in the yard when this happened, friendliest dog ever. The neighbors camera only captures a s...

This just happened to me

Myself, my Fiance and our 2 daughters left the House at 12pm. We got back at 3pm to find that someone had jimmied our door open. We have so far found that nothing is missing. We called the cops, they sent an officer but since nothing was missing and there was only minor damage to the door there was ...

Re: PAW/TEOTWAWKI Vehicle: 4x4 or Prius

The thing about PAW/TEOTWAWKI is if it ever actually does happen, its not gonna be like anyone imagined it. So you might be just fine with your prius, and maybe that huge 4x4 will not do anyone anygood. The only certainty is that there will be no certainty when it comes to the end of the world. So j...

Best and Worst WORST 1986 Jeep Comanche. Terrible gas mileage, no power, broke down all the time. 1988 Subaru Wagon. Clutch kept going out. Replaced it 3 times. but that might have been my fault. Overall I like Subarus, this one was a lemon. 2004 Chrysler Sebring. OMG one of the worst vehicles ever ...

Power tools will do that. I worked as a carpenter for many years. Never cut anything off but had some close calls. The table saw was my biggest nemesis. I got bruises from kickback more times that I care to count. My boss cut his fingers off a few years ago. You can still see the blood splatters on ...

Re: Almost drowned.

Earlier this summer I too almost drowned, or so it seemed. I was at heron lake in northern New Mexico during labor day. The lake was pretty cold, you could see snow on the mountains north of the lake. There is a part of the lake near the dam where you can jump off of the cliffs. You can see in the p...

Yes, a few times. Once when I was 18 I was riding my bike at 9pm to the store. I was about 2 miles out crossing a river (dry) when I started to feel like I had a headache. It seemed like it was a really bad headache.I kept going but the headache started to really hurt. By this time I had gone anothe...

Kid did a good job. I am not sure If I could have stayed that calm with a gun trained on me and a nervous cop calling for back up. The S sort of H T F here especially when the other cops came. The cops were sort of ignorant but that's what happens. where I work sometimes there are cops who do securi...

Re: So, I was just robbed in my house

Stranger things have happened. I think most people expect that if someone is "robbed" then its a blood thirsty gangster just waiting to kill you and your wife and your dogs. Sometimes its just a dude who needs some money for a nice heroin fix. You did the right thing in staying cool. The best advice...

Bolt gun! Much more reliable, less parts to break, classic, more accurate, and if you are in a situation where you need to "quickly fire rounds downrange", chances are you dont want a 22 anyways. I bought a Winchester wildcat and it rocks.

I practice with a condition zero pistol. Sometimes I point it at the dog. She pretends that she is the bad guy and wiggles her tail at me. I only accidentally shot at her once and she was OK. I feel that this "live" practice makes me a better shooter and person. I dont have a holster so I just stuff...

Re: best way to display rifles?

I built a plywood gun case. It resides in the empty space underneath my mattress in the empty space of my platform bed. Its completely hidden and has a lock on it. you have to pick up the mattress to get to it. Granted if a thief really wanted those guns he would only need a few tools, but it keeps ...

Yea this was something I have been wanting to do for a while. I slowly started buying the materials. I finally got all my stuff together and then went to sams club and bought some rice and beans. I only bought the 1 gallon bags and filled about 8 of them with rice and beans. I used to oxy absorbers ...
