Re: My Job, My Hell...

Speaking of getting mouthy with cops, I'm reminded of an incident that happened at the first and only rodeo I've ever been to. Which now that I think about it, was almost 30 years ago. The short story is my dad got drunk, decided to get into an argument with my mother as we're leaving the rodeo are...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

Let's just say that the The Democratic Justice Party (DJP) was not democratic or had much of any justice to it, which led to the June Struggle some years later. It always amazed me to watch Americans get caught up in some kind of mess that involved another nations police force. You think LEOs are b...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

Some years back while I was dating Lil (she was still stationed at Clark AB) and I was fooling around somewhere in the , area. The Company Commander gave us a safety briefing, same old stuff, different day with the exception that this time they told us that their may be a demonstration in the Ville ...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

Bahaaha!!I'm guessing the quonset huts were up in "Dragon Valley"? Good story - different eras, but some things never change. Duct tape being one of them. I tried to watch that bmw clip, but couldn't get it to play. They only made the R90/6 for three years; 1974-76. Mine is a '76. So I'd really lik...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

Here' a quick one for you: I was stationed in Korea, assigned to the 2nd ID. We spent a lot of time roaming around the DMZ and up and down every darn mountain range in South Korea. Up one hill, cross a small valley and then up the other side, rinse and repeat, and repeat and repeat. We called Camp ...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

Welcome back, Laager. I missed your unique writing style. Thank you, it has been a busy new year so far. Last fall was pretty busy as well, but now things are slowing down, and I am up and about (somewhat) working on a new bike project, and just doing the usual stuff that pops up. Range time...

Re: How long do cigarettes last in original packaging?

Well I had a C-Rat some years back that was dated from 1952 and the Chesterfields that came with it seemed to be okay. I traded them off for something else. The guy smoked them and never said anything about them being stale.

I lasted about 40 minutes, then pulled the hey lets go down to the Tulie Freeze for ice cream......my treat and away we went. I ended up telling them that maybe that darn coyote must have grabbed it, I am not sure which bothered/disturbed them more the fact that there was a coyote running loose or ...

Re: How long do cigarettes last in original packaging?

Well when I was on active duty we were issued C-rats and on occasion we ended up with K-rats (I ended up with Chesterfields). I did not smoke, so I would trade my cigarettes for other things. Heck a lot of the guys would open up the rats just to get the cigarettes that were inside and then they thre...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

Just wanted to tell you about the leg I ended up with. Now I am Eligible to use both Tricare and Triwest from myself and Lil as well. I do not usually use VA, so for my recent surgery I went with Tricare (civilian doctors) and had the surgery. Then everything shut down due to the Chinese or Wuhan fl...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

On another note, Lil recently bought a used 1991 BMW K Series motorcycle to tinker with and put back together. I was working on it in the garage when some of the grandkids decided to get dropped off at our house since they are not going to school and Lil is at home. Lil sent them out to get me for l...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

It has been awhile, but I need to tell the story about the Marlin. Now when I was active duty, your friends were all in your section/platoon. Followed by the Company or Troop, then maybe the Battalion and the Brigade. Our First Sergeant had a hissy fit over us fighting each other (within the section...

Re: My Job, My Hell...

Well, good news, bad news and then of course more bad news.... I'm leaving the country for a few months, then when I get back, well lets just say that the check that Uncle Sam wrote some time back evidently was not cashed for the full amount at that time and now the remainder is due. Evidently there...

Re: Lost Hiker in Hawaii Found, Search Continues for Common Sense

Don't get me wrong, it is not like I have not done some incredibly stupid things in my life. We used to hike from Three Rivers, NM up to Ruidoso, NM at least once a summer. You quickly learn what you need to haul along and what needs to be left behind or at home. If we were to do that with our kids ...

My money is on her winning, since she seems to have kicked his rear end at the pre wedding dinner/drunken brawl. As well as being active duty Army and and avid hunter. Re: My Job, My Hell...

Well not really knowing what to do (see previous lack of OPORD), I returned to my previous location to talk to Lil. Now I will admit I have been to some family reunions (ok, most of them end up with drunken fights, to include both blunt weapons, edged weapons and on an occasion or two firearms of di...
