Re: Woods Walker in Memorium
I signed in for the first time in ages to share my sadness in the hopes that it's some comfort to his family if they read this. Lots of love and a great dude.

Correct. If you make someone Criminal first, you can do whatever you want to them.CitizenZ wrote:That usually does not apply to criminal acts or contraband.

Re: A very f--ked up thing happened in Canada... read this p
To be honest, I think someone finally woke up and realized that they had a bunch of unrestricted long guns that were functionally identical to prohibited model numbers, and then Something Had To Be Done. There's a long answer to that, but it reads like a soap opera of fraud, revenge, politics, mone...

Re: A very f--ked up thing happened in Canada... read this p
How do they plan on enforcing the new ruling? I was under the (mis?)understanding that most of the registry of (then) unrestricted arms had been destroyed. This is correct, they don't have (that we know of) a record of the non-restricted firearms any more (thankfully). However, that leaves a pretty...

Re: A very f--ked up thing happened in Canada... read this p
It's gotten worse. The RCMP has classified most CZ858 built VZ58s in Canada as prohibited.
This has now made thousands, if not tens of thousands, more Canadians criminals.

A very f--ked up thing happened in Canada... read this pls
This is a story of how "they'd never come take my guns"... comes shockingly true in Canada last night. I haven't posted much in the last couple years as getting heavily involved in the Canadian firearms community has taken me away from ZS. However, I came back on to share something that happened las...

Re: lets talk compact fixed magnification optics
I can get an ACOG TA01NSN for that kind of money. A little waiting would get the TA47 that id prefer. I guess that's what I really want, so I might have to start a "discretionary fund" for such endevors :awesome: Ahhh, I forgot you've got a million of those floating around your side of the border. ...

Re: lets talk compact fixed magnification optics
The real problem with them is that the base is crap. That is usually what you have to look out for. Well, that and Chinese knockoff now. Elcan has at least 1 more model between thC79 and the Dr that is fixed and can be found nearly new for around 800 if you can stretch your budget. I would imagine i...

Best glass under $500? Used Elcan C79. It makes my ar332 look like a dim toilet paper tube. OK its a little ugly and heavy and some are problematic, but you aren't going to get better magnified glass under $500. Note, it may have a different name in the USA. FWIW the 332 is OK. I wouldn't call it gr...

Sadly Red Lion doesn't have a Canadian dealer to export to, so their stuff is unobtanium here unless you find someone willing to smuggle it up here. Call me an enabler, but all I'd have to do is mail it to you, right? Not a problem. I mean, I'm in Wisconsin, so I could just throw it over ...

Oh, heh.
I think for something like this, a camp/defensive/emergency gun in 9mm, accurate at 50 yds would make me pretty happy. If it keeps any reasonable accuracy at 100 yards, I'll be impressed.

This is the main range I'm a member of: http://www.pcdhfc.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; However, it's non-restricted as the Canadian version is 18.5" so I could just take it out into the bush... but the range is closer to my house.

Now that I'm a Sub2k owner, there is one and only one thing that the Sub2k does better than any other rifle...
Fit in a bag.
If that's not in your top 2 criteria for picking a gun, it shouldn't be in the conversation.

Re: KelTec Sub 2000 review w pics 'n hateraid
In for the range report. Slightly OT, can y'all crutch-tip an AR? You mean take a pistol AR and put a cane tip at the end of the buffer tube to keep it a pistol but shoot like a rifle? Sure. However, the AR is a restricted category (meaning range only) up here, no matter what you do to it, so 8" or...

Ok, with all the Sub2k talk lately, I had to buy one. I got it with the Sig mags for compatibility, not because I hate everything Glock. :) Disclaimer 1 - I am not a KelTec fan. Disclaimer 2 - That is all So, I pick up the box from my PO box today... it could have been a book from Amazon.com. Crack ...

Watching Juan Of The Dead right now. It's reasonably good, quite funny, really a Cuban Shaun of the Dead, it lives up to what it promises!

IMHO most keltec is crap. The receiver on my buddys su16 crackEd 2 months in. The sub2000 is the only thing they have up here that seems to get very good reviews overall.
