Re: Bug Out Gear Deals (Post 'em when you find 'em) I

Sweet! I just ordered 4 of the 30oz version. One each for our neighbor and his wife who take care of our lawn for us because they're nice people, and one for me and one for my wife. 30oz is the perfect size. 40 is to big. Now go on ebay and order handles. They are a must have. As the mugs get very ...

Spec-ops is selling a few versions of The Pack for a deep discount right now. One for $63 and two others for $56. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk It would be really considerate to post at least a product link if not photos or information to better explain what this is and why it is a deal. And...

Tornadoes and ice storms. both quite common here in Iowa. tornadoes knock the power out and make people have to leave places. Ice storms knock the power out and make people have to stay in.

I work in Telecommunications for a large utility holding company, I'll be interested to see if there are any implications or even a mention of this. I just started the job so Im not super familiar with their ops yet, but they definitely seem to have their stuff together in relation to security.

Zero SoCal forum members seem to be interested in participating either as individuals or as a group in any manner for the contest. Just perform a search and you can e...

I think he's referring to the ones that are kinda put on by the forum where you go out on your own and then report back on your activities in the thread. Like the thread at the top of this subforum called "Winter MBO thread" from last winter.

OP, the last one I saw was last winter...

Re: RTIC/YETI Stainless Steel cup.

I have the RTIC version as well. I just got done using it for a week and a half in Moab, UT, oddly enough. It was great being able to have a cold soda all day on the trail along with 14,000 gallons of water. I was really impressed at how cold it kept them out in the direct sunlight and heat.

Re: Lessons From a LEO Lawfully Defending Himself in NOLA

There was on thing that I neglected to mention. It is not in the article but I confirmed it from another source. The JPSO was not wearing his ballistic vest. The JPSO allows individual officers to make the choice to wear or not due to the issues of heat and comfort in the NOLA summertime. The ambie...

I agree that although the telescoping antenna would work, I would be really worried about breaking the SMA connector on your radio. I have a UV82 as well, and bought this and love it. It's extremely flexible. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KC ... bw_g107_i1

I had a rain barrel at my old house, I had a hell of a time keeping algae from growing in it. It was a white barrel, maybe a darker color would have been better?

I have about 6 of these for the scout troop. Some work perfect, some tend to leak. the leaks are at either the spout or the gasket in between the container and the white spout unit thingy. I've only seen 1 leak in the seam, and I'm pretty sure it was handled pretty rough. We've replaced the gasket ...

Huh. I've been a cop for 8.5 years and never heard of this. I used these to help me quit chewing tobacco last year. I did quit. It didn't last, but I was successfully able to quit using these. High quality float charger?

I need to get a float charger or 3 for a couple vehicles that don't get driven much, and my riding mower. You can get them as cheaply as 8 bucks and as expensive as $150. My 2 Jeeps (89 Comanche and 05 Wrangler Unlimited) don't get driven much because I have a company vehicle that I drive every day ...

Re: Long Term Vehicle Storage -A lesson in Vehicle Unprepard

Even having a vehicle that only gets driven once a month or so is a little bit of a chore. Obviously the gasoline issue isn't a factor there, but keeping the battery topped off seems to be troublesome for me. I have a trailer brake controller installed with a factory harness, but 1 single LED indica...

When I build my first house (always have bought, not built), I'll be having either one of these put in, or the foundation poured in a concrete box for the same effect. Good on you. I live on the north end of Tornado Alley so it is one of my top reasons for prepping. That and snow/ice storms.

Re: Civilian Concealed Carry vs. Peace Officer

Seems like if you're not in it to serve your community, you should probably skip it. 3 months of law enforcement academy, continual training and certification etc... or just get non-resident CCW permits from a combo of states that get you the most states on the "I can carry here" list.
