Question about where to buy

I need some input from our members that make there own gear. I have a pack that I am modifying. Specifically I have a camelbak transformer that I already made a internal frame with a single aluminum stay and I am adapting the pack to accept kifaru shoulder straps because they are so comfy. I have to...

Re: Long range AR build

Well here is the up dated range report. Went out to the shoot yesterday and had a blast. This was my first time shooting anything past 75 – 100 yards. When I first got there I got my 50 yard zero and then my 100 yard zero and then went straight into the match. Some things to keep in mind. 1.) This i...

Re: Long range AR build

What do you mean tactical rifle shoot? If you mean a bunch of guys shooting bolt action and or semi-auto riffles in the pron position from bipods that's exactly what we are shooting curretly. It's not NRA sanctioned like the high powered class. It's more of a fun way to get into competitive shooting...

Re: Long range AR build

My current scope is only a temp till I can find a good deal on something better but I will be using it to Figuer out what power I want to shoot at. Then when I have a few matches under my belt I'll invest in a better one. The targets we are shooting at are not that small there 48"x48" with x ring of...

Re: Long range AR build

The trigger is the next thing for me to replace the FZ hammer was an extra that came with the BCU so losing it is not that big of a deal. I debated getting the mono pod but I can't use it for FClass. you can use a bag support but nothing that will allow you to mechanically return to the same level f...

Re: Long range AR build

I don't run the FZ BCU with no lube but it does allow me to use a lot less and feel good about it. Also it is amazing how easy it is to clean. It will be another month or two before I will be set up to be reloading the 77g so for the time being I will be using hornady 75g match ammo so I'll let ya k...

Long range AR build (UPDATED W/ RANGE REPORT)

I say this before I say anything else. I totally respect a fine bolt action rifle. I will be the first to admit few things can match there accuracy, however I wanted to try and build a simi-auto platform that could. That being said I wanted to build a .223 to compete with all of the big boy .308s in...

Re: What is your bug out setup?

I have been watching this thread for a while because it's an honest question that has no right answer. I would be just as guilty as the next guy to cram every spare space in my bag with with ammo if push came to shove and I had to bug out. That being said if I had to bug out it's already really real...

Re: 3 years on the waiting list...

Yeah lol three years, no joke. I actually forgot I was on the waiting list. I don't know if I fell through the cracks or if it took that long to get the kits back in stock. Advantage arms is so behind on there glock kits it's almost sad. These kits are a pain to find right now. Thx for the heads up ...

3 years on the waiting list...

Well lol it took three years but one of the waiting lists I was on finally delivered. Some time this up coming week the cool man in the big brown truck will be droping off my Advantage Arms .22 LR conversion for my Glock 26. Finally I can get loads of trigger time at the range with my favorite gun f...

Re: Bottomless pockets? Try a Kifaru Bag!

Last year I picked up a G2 Zulu with XTL and a Koala in CB. By far it was the best money I have spent on prep and it taught me to save a bit more and get the best it's worth it. The koala has become my range bag and I use a shoulder sling. But if I were to bug out i set up the system so that the koa...

The pic is cool and all but what are the specs? How long does it last? At what output? Can you recharge it using some means like a solar panel? What did u use to build it? A pic of the inside would be sweet!

This is a bit OT because its not about either of the packs you listed. Last year I picked up the CamelBak Transformer. Id add it to your considerations if i was you. I know i did and i didn't regret it. http://www.camelbak.com/~/media/Products/Current/GMI%20Hydration%20Packs/Transformer/72/gmi-packs...

Re: The Glock Thumb Safety

Besides the external "safety" on a glock. What I came unglued about was the LEO having to rack the slide to see if his gun was hot... At least when I went through POST we were taught if your Gun is on your side u make sure it's "hot" besides the fact you can look at the side of the gun to see if you...

Re: Lighting options for your BOB - and cheap

Nice post. Good thinking about the craft store. Also a fave of mine is Petzl e+light it weighs nothing, runs for up to 45 hours on a pair of watch batteries and is only slightly $$ than the krill light (LL bean has them for 29.99 right now) and this light has both white and red light is hands free, ...

Re: PAW Firearm Preparedness.

The topic of firearms and bugging out is a hard one to agree on. Everyone has a different “ideal” set that they think will work best. That is a good thing because the idea set up is different for everyone just like there is no one perfect “list” for a BOB. Now I agree with the purposed list of 4 and...

Butch's Bore Shine

I recently got a bottle of butch's bore shine after some reading through my Lymans reloading guide. I love this stuff, i was wondering if there were any other fans of it here? i took my 357 down to the range ran 100 rounds of trash ammo/target ammo i then cleaned it with the 2 in one s&w cleaner. af...
