Gunman Kills 8 At FedEx Warehouse In Indianapolis Getting so goddamned depressed hearing about these shootings. If the endpoint is to kill yourself anyway, why not just skip to step C and save everyone a lot of grief? If your asshole boss, girl-who-rejected-your-advances or different-than-me-so-I-m...

From a DIY ration pack I put together 1/1/16: Trader Joe's Jaipur Vegetables (think: Tasty Bite retort-packaged Indian entree): Best by date: 1/31/18, so 3+ years out of date: delicious, as was the instant rice I served with them. 2.6 oz retort pouch of Skip Jack Tuna (private label, but basically t...

This thread has been pretty dead lately, huh? Maybe increased awareness of disaster prep has led to higher demand, making deals fewer and farther between? Here's one, I think: Lifestraw Personal water filter: $11.98 ships free with Amazon Prime. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B006QF3TW4/ref=ox_...

I guess at this point I'd have to say my AR15. I haven't shot it in a few years now. Yes I know all the arguments about the importance of constant proficiency training. But with the current ammo prices I want to conserve my stocks. And what little marksmanship practice I get these days comes from sh...

Yep, I'd say we've got major blockage here. 10% of the world's shipping traffic goes through the Suez Canal. https://static01.nyt.com/images/2021/03/24/world/24suez4/24suez4-jumbo.jpg?quality=90&auto=webp https://static01.nyt.com/images/2021/03/24/world/24suez2/merlin_185467083_577ea068-d5a9-49d2-8a...

Japanese water stones here. Well, with the exception of one polishing stone, they are all artificial water stones made by a company called Norton. Economy fares for the flights will start from A$737 (£413), and passengers won’t know where they’re going until they touch down – although they will receive a clue when they’re advised what to pack in their hand luggage. Had to double check to make sure I hadn't already responded to this thread. Through a combination of picking up refills as soon as they become available and invariably missing the occasional daily dosage, I've built up a 2+ month excess supply of the blood pressure medications I'm on. It's taken me ...

Re: Build a Settlement or Lone Survivalist?

Becoming "mayor" in a post-apocalyptic scenario makes me think of a Governor- or Negan-style of despotic SHTF leader. I would rather be a valued and supportive member of such a community and work behind the scenes to ensure that no one attains such a position of ruthless power. In other words, I'd b...

Re: Hi there!

Welcome to Zombie Squad. 'What would you do scenarios' are always compelling. And since we place an emphasis on real world disaster preparation, those hypothetical thought experiments can have practical value. They force one to think hard about what would and wouldn't work in an emergency situation....

Drawbacks of Living in a Tiny Home During a Pandemic

Re: There's no time like the end of times for a good Bourbon

Blanton's is sort of the grail bourbon for a lot of enthusiasts. Some people actually collect the bottles because that distiller astutely changes that pewter horse bottle stopper periodically. I'd love to try a sip just to satisfy my curiosity but I doubt it'll ever happen. I just don't run with the...

Re: There's no time like the end of times for a good Bourbon

Closest thing to bourbon I've got right now is a couple little airline bottles of Maker's Mark and Woodford Reserve my oldest sister brought back from Kentucky in 2019. I havent opened them yet, but that's mostly because I don't drink alcohol that much. It's been about a year or so since I had a be...
