just shelter in place until the cavalry arrives. EMS will be there shortly. Something like this is not the end of the world as we know it

Hurricane Preps

Here in Florida, we just finished up with Hurricane Irma. A big gal, she covered the entire state. It had been 12 years since a hurricane gobsmacked Florida. I have seen a ton of them, as I have been around since the forties. This one was as bad as they get. Keep telling the newbs here that hurrican...

Re: Flooding in NOLA

building below sea level is fraught with problems. They can be solved, but not at a price NO can afford. The rest of the Country should not be held hostage financially though. Better to let it just slide back into the water and walk away.

Re: So you are a hobbit enlisted in a war band, weapons?

Hobbits used bows to good advantage in the Scouring of the Shire. Why would your weapon choice not allow that? Seems to be, that's the best 'equalizer'

Re: A girl in the wild - Bush Craft Stephi

looks like she was shown what to do moments before doing it. Not really a confident display of woods skills.

Cute though, and that's probably the intent of the whole series of vids.

I really like the CZ 75D PCR as a CCW pistol. Adequate magazine capacity and magazine availability. Flawless performance. Good ergonomics, and sized right.

appears you have to watch this directly on YouTube now..

he moves too fast in the woods, he does not make use of cover or concealment, he makes way too much noise. :)
Way too much gear for a simple recon. Silly to have to take off a pack to reach water. Lots of goofy stuff here.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

this second episode is SO bad, that watching it is not unlike an exercise in self flagellation. Can Rick and that moron Darrell be any more stupid? After the truck drove off with all the swag, I decided that it was just not worth watching. Turned it off.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombieis

it's out, but not widely distributed. Trailer below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foGraEVNI0s Movie taken from the book by Seth Grahame-Smith and of course, Jane Austen. The book was pretty good, can't wait to see the movie. \\http://www.amazon.com/Pride-Prejudice-Zombies-Classic-Ultraviolent/dp/1...

I have handled, and shot, 4 different PMR 30 pistols. Every one of them was a jam o matic. I seriously doubt this POS is the number one selling hand gun in America.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

zombies flood the town, small groups are barricaded in houses, Wolves are escaping, doctors being kidnapped, Carol and Morgan going toe to toe, and yet, there is still time for sensitive, touching discussions, encouragement to 'find your dream'. The story line is almost surreal now.

spendy for a fantasy style blade, from a new maker, and with regular old plain vanilla 1095 steel.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

I almost winced when Rick unloaded the Python, and then wrist snapped the cylinder shut. Damn. Watching the ineptitude with firearms is painful. The use of an AR butt to bash zeds is not only stupid, but would result in an out of action rifle pretty darn quick. Yet, time after time, these losers use...

just when you swore that the show could not get any worse, the writers/producers surprise you, and say "HELL YES, it can get even more lame"

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Everybody in the PAW has a 'back story'. Seldom are those stories really worth telling, or germane to the issues at hand. This episode, the waste of time and bandwidth, is inexcusable.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

well, with all of America waiting for an answer to the Glenn issue, the show pulls a classic bait and switch. Instead of closure, instead of knowing where the trail drive is going, instead of knowing if the residents at Arlington are ok, we get an hour of absolute bullshit.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

it almost seems like Rick and his group have lost sight of all the skills and knowledge they learned the hard way, in the previous years of living on the edge. Not much they do is well conceived, makes sense, or works. Unless the writers are just doing a slight of hand trick, a slick plot device, ol...

lame, lame, lame. A little city full of sheep, afraid to defend themselves, cowering, won't pull the trigger. If Carol and Carl had not been left in town, everyone would have died.

Re: Fear The Walking Dead

spent the past several years with no cable or satellite. Signed up for Sling TV, and noticed that AMC was part of that package. This comes through my ROKU cube. Watched two and a half episodes of the "Fear the walking Dead" show. If there has ever been worse TV produced, I have not seen it. Plot is ...
