I have a Winchester 1873 manufactured just before the turn of the century. It shoots just fine for something almost 120 years old.
It was not taken care of though, so I had a gunsmith check it out first.

I have been carrying these in my P-64.

The work well on paper, I haven't had a chance to test them in gel yet...
I personally feel more comfortable with the extra penetration of a fmj in 9x18.

Re: Tweaker Confrontation
Disaster avoided, I'd call this one a win. I have a 911 app I can access from my phones lock screen (dials 911 give me my current address via GPS). I make it a habit to keep my phone in my weak hand and I should already be using this app before I ever go for my weapon. I can always drop the phone if...

Bit worried for you there wee... Non locking blades are dangerous - especially if being used in a general utility role. Please consider a fixed or locking blade, think of your safety! Apologies for Brevity. Sent from my phone using Tapatalk Really? I've nicked myself more times with my linelockers ...

Re: Barrel life of a 10/22
In the 23 years of shooting mine, I've put a conservative 23k rounds through it. It's still pretty much as it left the factory with the exception of a little rust pitting the outside of the barrel. I never cleaned it as a kid, and even now maybe only once every other year? My Butler Creek folding st...

Re: Heart attacks, aspirin and a small saga, reality check
You did good N-E. My Uncle (46yo) was having "bad heart burn" for a few days. He didn't have insurance and refused to go to the hospital. When he finally told my aunt to call 911, he fell over dead moments later. His funeral was today. I share this only for those that might want to wait and see if i...

+1 for the pistol parlor.
They are my go to for ammo, along with shooter stop.

Re: Phoenix, AZ Gun Shops.
The general area you would be visiting could help narrow it down.
There are a lot of LGS out here.
off the top of my head,
there's Shooters World it has a range, and Rezz Guns has a pretty eclectic mix of used firearms.
Both central Phoenix~ish.

Re: All Purpose Optics and Mounts Thread
So in looking for a scope for my new AR. I had settled on Leupold's 1.25-4
but then I found a used Trijicon TR24 for $100 more than a new Leupold.
I guess my question for the collective is, which is the better glass for the price?

Seems to be, my buddy shoots his old milsurp through one and then reloads the brass for his bolt-action.jackson51 wrote:Ah, thought it might be something like that...wasn't sure tho. Is the brass reusable?

The rifle had a fluted chamber, like a Cetme.Found this .308 brass there. Any idea what the deal is with it? I've never seen such a thing.

Re: Forget /., JoergS has made the Cartoons!
So, assuming a point-source goat of the statistically average 64kg, it'd have to be traveling over 1.1e9m/s to achieve 40EJ. Since that's more than 300 times the speed of light, we're obviously dealing with a relativistic goat and the math gets messy. Suffice it to say, at a significant fraction of...
