Very much so. I was floored at how well it controlled recoil and muzzle climb. I like it so much I am buying the Dynacomp short for my 5.45 upper.

Re: Show and Tell thread, Longarm edition

I would love to! I made it a dedicated 5.45 AR so I could shoot all of the corrosive ammo I wanted out of the lower and not have to worry about possibly ruining all of the fun for my other upper. Specs: Spikes Tactical Mid Length 5.45 Upper, here is the description off of AIM: Spikes Tactical 5.45x...

Re: $540 Milspec AR15

You didn't take into account the $15 shipping cost for the upper and the shipping/transfer fee for the lower. This is true i did not take these things into account, shipping changes for where ever you are in the states and didnt want to take any assumptions the same goes for transfer fees. So absol...

$540 Milspec AR15

I posted this on another thread but figured it may be interesting to others so I am making a new topic. Here is a way to get a milspec AR15 carbine for about $540 sans the rear sights. The talks on AR15 about PSA have been positive and they seem to be a good quality manufacturer. Well anyway this is...

Re: AK-74 Magazines

I own an Interarms AK74 (wood furniture) and I love it. I've probably put around 1k rounds through it, not quite a full tin yet.. but i think i only have two or three boxes left in it. For the price point its pretty nice, mine came in great condition, in fact everything looked new. Even the gas bloc...

But at that point why get an AK pattern rifle for a cartridge more suited to the AR pattern? Ok so you could get a saiga for $400 or you could do this. Re: Saiga 5.45?

I am the proud owner of both the AK74 and a dedicated 5.45 AR15, and trust me when I say its worth every penny. I have started to compete with both of my 5.45 guns (AK74 in the stock irons class and my 5.45 AR in enhanced class). They both shoot like a dream and quickly became my favorites. The tins...

This isn't exactly related but on the same topic of the durability of the platform here is a good post from Vuurwapen Blog about why he thinks that cleaning your AR isnt always necessary. http://vuurwapenblog.com/2010/08/27/cleaning-your-ar-15-is-pretty-much-a-waste-of-time/" onclick="window.open(th...

Re: Ever had a gunsmith tell you no?

Hmm so apparently getting a new gunsmith is for sure the way to go, but does anyone know any good gunsmiths in the Akron to Columbus ohio areas? I was trying to go with this one because he was close but if he is going to refuse something because he doesnt think i need it than i have a feeling I shou...

Ever had a gunsmith tell you no?

So I have been thinking about getting a CAI Galil (dont judge me, i like them.) however I love shorter barrels. The barrel on a CAI Galil is somewhere between 18 and 21 inches (for anyone who knows please let me know). So I called Whitetail gunsmithing in northern Ohio (about 30 min from where I liv...

using Kinetic Energy always kinds of bugs me....I guess because it is one half mass times the velocity squared. what relevance does squaring the velocity have in the real world (but to artifically inflate the end number)? furthermore, why halve everything??? Hey guys, so I read the paper and have a few concerns with some of the information. I am in no way saying that this paper is bad or wrong in anyway, just expressing concerns. Ok so first off this is not a study, I am glad to see many of you referring to it as a "report" or an "article" this is good ...

Re: Savage Edge

I used to have one in .308 and I enjoyed it. The trigger was a pretty standard hunting trigger, the recoil was a bit rough because its a very light rifle. Construction is good quality, however my trigger assembly had a problem of getting stuck and not resetting. I brought it to the gunshop that I pu...

Re: random bug out rifle question

Would a Mosin be a good bug out gun? Yeah it would work just fine, as long as you knew how to handle it. Dont listen to those saying that a mosin cant hit a barn door or whatever, here are two videos proving that they actually can hit things at 400 to 1000 yards with a few simple mods. M44 - 420 Yar...

Well a quick update, I just purchased one from a local gun shop, they're shipping it from their distributor and it should be here in about 5 business days. In addition to that I also found a real nice and compact x4 optic for my Marlin. As a final note.. Last week I just reloaded about 400 more roun...

Re: Rossi 16" .357mag Lever Action

I've owned one since February, and it's accurate, light, quiet, negligable recoil, 10+1... it's great. As long as you understand its limitations, it's a fantastic rifle, particularly for a truck. hey man thanks for the quick reply. one quick question, are you talking about the limitations of the le...
