Re: New York denies request to allow 44 unvaccinated students back in class

I'd like to point out that since this thread has started Measles has spread to a number of states, some of which have had no cases in years. At some point we should be able to move this thread to DICE. :( https://www.cdc.gov/measles/cases-outbreaks.html From January 1 to April 19, 2019, 626** indivi...

This is the problem with arguing for any sort of research into vaccines. I'm not saying take vaccines out of society tomorrow. I'm saying maybe we should do more research before considering it standard practice to use children as guinea pigs for large numbers of them combined. The experimentation p...

Re: Anyone have a Burris MTAC?

Welcome.

Burris and Nikon both make quality products. At the mid range price point there are a lot of quality scopes out there that are mostly differentiated by features. It really depends upon what features you are looking for.

They also make a good video on the merits of 327 magnum as a carry revolver. Again, while I happen to disagree they make a solid argument.

It isn't 130 positive results. It is 20,000,000,000 positive results. It is completely changing the face of mankind from one scarred with pox and dying young to one of a long and healthy life. You want to see the shit hit the fan for real? Take vaccines out of society tomorrow and make us unable to ...

4) Temporary stretch cavity is pretty much meaningless when looking at pistol bullets. The body is elastic and copes with the stretching pretty well, until one gets up to around 2200fps+. Then the body starts to have issues with stretch cavity. Notice they were careful not to call it hydrostatic sh...

Re: Sri Lanka Church Bombings

The ISIS supporters are claiming that the attacks were in "revenge" for the NZ mosque attacks. I am unable to twist my logic far enough to figure out how an attack by a pagan Odonist worshipper who was a white separatist is somehow avenged by killing mostly black and Asian Christians. https://www.th...

No need to conflate other issues here. In this particular case the government is reflecting the overwhelming will of the people out of concern for public safety supported strongly by science and validated by over 130 years of positive results. The fact that some have fallen prey to a disinformation ...

We will overlook the logical fallacy trap you have fallen in to for the moment. Your first reference had Judy Mickovits on the front page. Not exactly a paragon of reliable scientific research there. And nothing about vaccines. The second link I think had a listing of fetal tissues used (or in some ...

Two things of note. One Social media has been shut down in Sri Lanka. Ostensibly to prevent the spread of rumors and misinformation. I think anyone travelling or living in a state without freedom of speech protections should expect that in a violent political crisis and should think about ways to st...

Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...

The cheapest one I ever bought was around $200. Didn't get free ammo with it but it had nice ring sight installed on it. But back in Fayettnam' in the early 90s (pre ban) the LGS's had them for $95 each or a crate of ten for $899. I could not imagine what I would do with a crate of them. Were those...

Things are really starting to swirl the drain. It will be Zimbabwe in a few more months. The last power outages crippled the oil industry and shut down what little remained of heavy industry forever. SIDOR, which has seen a 90%+ drop in steel production since nationalization has ceased operations al...

Before Sandy Hook I put a couple of Norincos on layaway for the kids for Christmas. They were $350 each and I thought they were a touch high. After Sandy Hook I went in to pick them up and the owner was really trying hard to get me to cancel the sale. I scanned the shelf and the ones he had on the s...

This is an excellent point worth emphasizing. Fighting untrained, unconditioned fighters vs trained and conditioned fighters is a completely...

The trunk side of a car can actually be cover if, like mine it is filled full of heavy items like body armor. Also when taking cover behind a vehicle get behind a wheel. But taking cover may be pointless if the shooter is nearby, still shooting and you are disarmed. He can simply walk around it.

Did you find the story to be well-told? It sounds like all the stupid stuff was left out of the story. The story made sense and most of the characters were believable. The movie is low budget but the acting is actually good. Factually, there were only a few things I took issue with such as the leng...
