Re: A case for the S2k (and other PCC's in general)

Ive read this thru and Im sorry but i still think an s2k is a viable option for some. We live in the city, we don't need 300 yard guns. My wife cannot hold up a full size rifle. I cannot afford to build a super light rifle for her. Rifle caliber pistols like so many have mentioned scare the crap ou...

Re: A case for the S2k (and other PCC's in general)

Just because youre a douche canoe snob, and don't like it doesnt mean it doesnt fill the needs of others I was going to say "hey, good point man, like I said there are niche uses, people who cannot handle a larger rifle being one". Why do you have to throw insults in and ruin a perfectly good point...

Huh, i always thought we were safe here in phoenix but when you said hurricanes can hit anywhere it clicked how close we really are to the coast. Do hurricanes happen on the west side? Any other natural disasters that could happen here? Besides earthquakes

Re: Fired a Warning Shot, Police Called.

The only thing, I think, you should've done differently was quickly circle around the guy to at least ID the vehicle, and possibly the driver. The not knowing who it is, is the only part of this thing I have a problem with. Then crank off your warning shot straight up into the air, immediately foll...

Re: .22 cci stingers

from the video page: TEST: The test here consists of a 4-5" thick piece of chuck roast and 8 layers of denim (4 in front 4 in back). The .22LR round that we are using is the CCI Velocitor GDHP. This round is moving about 1400 FPS out of the muzzle. @ 300 yards this 40 grain bullet is moving about 82...

Re: .22 cci stingers

I beleive Stingers have a slightly longer brass case not 100% compatable with a tight chamber gun . Maybe the Ruger has a tighter chamber . My only "cred" is 27 yrs working in our family gun shop and 35 yrs a shooter . We're I choosing a defense round for a .22 firearm the #1 requirement is 100% re...

Re: How much food/water can you buy for $100? Here's what I

Side note, the LDS church is great in regards to any prepping you may do. The local one has Prepper meetings several times a month and does 'clinics' to help teach people how to prep. Also,at least in my AO, they will sell non-LDS familys long term storage food out of their stocks (when they have o...

Re: Has anyone read Neil Strauss's book 'Emergency'?

There was a lot of good info, but i think there was also a lot of "movie, cliche info". Its packed away somewhere so i couldnt give you an example, but just thought i would throw out a reminder to take everything with a grain of salt. I thought it ended too quickly, it was slow slow slow slow over, ...

Re: Family Builds "Tiny House" for $12,000

For what it is, it's pretty nice, seems well put together. But, for anyone wanting to prep for something long term, the only answer I can see is a storage unit, either on-site, or a rental (which would blow the saving the small house provides) unit- which means your preps are where you aren't. Buyi...

Re: Gardening in Phoenix? Self sufficiently?

Well looks like my google fu sucks because I cant find squat. Looks like early peoples were totally dependent on canals or riverbeds, and living in a suburb, that doesnt help me much. But I guess in reality, in a PAW situation Im planning on not being in the valley anyways. We have a five year give ...

Gardening in Phoenix? Self sufficiently?

Ok so next saturday Im moving back home to Phoenix. I spent ten years there before but never did any gardening except taking care of the lawn. I obviously want a garden, so I started doing some research, but Im not finding much at all and what I do find talks a lot about buying fertilizer and soils ...

Re: WTF Rifle of the Month *Open to all kinds of guns now*

I don't think a skull-covered gun should help convict someone for the same reason I don't think a unicorn-painted gun should help to justify innocence. It's a superficial, unsubstantiated snap-judgement people try to use to make sweeping generalizations about others, you know, sort of like racism, ...
