Re: My BOV Project: '85 Ramcharger

I see those dual exhaust tubes you aren't sneaking by anyone. Why not go the other route. Make the whole thing Chrome. https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.M4f5d836efea0b54a86eb3de7133bbeb1o0&pid=15.1&P=0&w=250&h=168 Those are on the list to change one because they are loud and second when sitting st...

Re: My BOV Project: '85 Ramcharger

Yeah I fully intend to black out all the chrome it just sticks out WAY to much with the flat color of the green. I decided to leave the trim pieces on for now to reduce the look as a military rig what with the color and all. Yeah tons of life left in this lil 318 so it should hold me until I get fun...

My BOV Project: '85 Ramcharger

I have been gone for awhile, ok a long while, and decided to come back and post up my build up of my new BOV. It is a 1985 Dodge Ramcharger Royal SE Prospector. Running gear includes a 318 (2bbl non computer carb), auto transmission, Dana 44 front and Chrysler 9.25 rear. I picked the rig up in Idaho...

Re: Root cellar.

I really need to build myself a root cellar. I really wish that I had some sort of hill on my property to dig into but I don't. I actually have easy access to under my house and I was considering digging it in under the actual house. It would be a real pain digging out though.

Re: Best 22lr pistol for a kid/teen

The first semi auto I ever shot was a Beretta 71 and I would love to get another one. I have a Single Six that I just about never shoot and I have also shot the Bear Cat as well. BOth are good guns but I am growing away from single actions. I currently have a Buckmark and I couldn't be happier with ...

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse has begun...

If this really was the beginning at the moment i would continue to monitor various news sources and try and get hold of the situation. I live on the opposite side of the country and hours from the nearest major city. From there we would decide best course of action, bug in or bug out. Most gear is a...

Re: DUMBEST F*&@king thing you've ever heard NOT ON THE ZS F

"you shouldn't carry a .380 because no one has ever been killed by one" I shit you not some one told me this when they saw me practicing with my SIG P230 at the range. Yes it is one of my carry weapons for when I do not feel like packing my P220 or can't for practical reasons. Guy said the same thin...

Re: Oregon family, lost for 6 days, survives

Out here in the east side of the state I normally run into one or two people that are lost in the mountains. During elk season I found a lost hunter who came over the wrong side of a ridge and got lost. Normally when we find someone they are from some other area and aren't even carrying a map for th...

Re: Is prepping spreading in your area?

Idaho is one of the areas I have been thinking about moving once I finish school though eastern Oregon, where I am now, is not far off. Funny thing is in the last year since I got carry permit my mother, my fiance and her father have all gotten theirs as well. People in my family that never showed i...

Re: Is prepping spreading in your area?

Back on topic from our spam bot derail... On the way home tonight the local radio DJ was talking about prepping and she wants to learn about it and was wanting preppers to call in and share their knowledge and all. She seemed really interested in learning what local preppers do and the like. Kinda f...

Re: Help an 18 yr old pick her first vehicle!

Oh I know that maybe statistically there is that chance, the thing is I am sure if you look at any age group for those types of cars there are more than likely more wrecks than in say those that drive something like a Taurus (proportionaly speaking of course considering there would be a larger segme...

Re: Help an 18 yr old pick her first vehicle!

I love how people always seem to think if a teenager gets a "fun" car they are going to end up dead in a week. My first car was a Camaro with an engine I built pushing over 400 hp, the second and actually owned at the same time until I was 20 (then sold the Camaro) was a 944 Porsche. Both cars were ...

Re: CCW n00b

To add to the great advice from Czech about the laws in our state is just because you have your CCW permit there is one more often unthought of place where your permit is not going to fly and that is on one of the indian reservations, you need permission from the tribal judge for that. Also carrying...

Re: Look at what Bubba did

Well I took it out to test today with a couple boxes of Remington 165 gr stuff. All I can say is holy crap do I love this gun! I have no question now this thing was used for shooting matches. My first target was at 100 yards and I placed 3 shots within 2 inches of the bullseye on the target. I then ...

Re: Look at what Bubba did

Wow that is a beauty of a stock set I wonder how hard it will be to find the rest of the metal parts for the stock? They even have a C stock, if I could find all the parts it would be interesting to build it into a sniper replica to shoot in the military rifle competitions. Oh I am sure that guy cou...

Wow someone dug this sucker up from the grave lol. Anyway yep I love the gun she is a good little shooter and puts out a fireball that scares everyone at the range with me. I actually have no issue with the recoil though others complain it. Kicks like a mule. Granted I also shoot a 300 Win Mag as we...

Not only the elbow look at his grip on the rifle with his right hand. All of the Mark I rifles are a 1,xxx,xxx or higher serial number and I believe the cutoff for the Springfield brittle receivers was around 800,000 so I am good there. That is. Good info though for others looking for one of these r...

Look at what Bubba did

Well I gotta love my fiance, I get home yesterday and find a new to me Springfield 1903 Mark I. She found it in a little gun shop that just opened up around here and knew I was wanting a '03 for the longest time. Sadly at some point it was "sporterized" cutting down what looks like a Type C stock. T...

http://www.titaniumgoat.com/PRK.html NEAT! It's a kit that turns a Cricket into a 15 oz pack rifle. Hmmm that is neat. I actually have an old Chipmunk (the rifle the Cricket was designed after) that was my first rifle back in the 80's (I was 5) and have thought about using it as a pack gun that is ...

I don't recall seeing any bed or cargo platform on it of any sort. Basically looked like a semi setup from the quick look I got. I need to go back and get more pics and look it over.
