Re: Archery Backstop

I made a movable backstop on a frame, with the target. (long story as to why) Had husband's shed behind it to be a backup. First shot missed not only the target and the backstop...and I now have proof I can hit the broadside of a barn. Was not fun explaining to husband that I put a hole in his newly...

changing car meds

I have a first aid kit in the car. A tackle box with stuff in it. To save space I put many OTC drugs in clearly labeled ziploc bags. The other day I was doing my kit check ups (all my kits, car, first aid, EDC tool kit etc...good habit every month). And realized...hey this has been in for...two year...

warren range coming

Warren Arkansas is building a gun range, has been for some time. It is affiliated with the Arkansas Game and Wildlife. They are opening sometime in May. Would anybody be interested in going there about the same time to meet up and shoot? more information here http://salineriverchronicle.blogspot.com...

Renewed our concealed carry.

Hubby put up 29 quarts of tomato sauce with our tomatoes and some from a local produce seller.

I'm not good for much with my cataract surgery, I'm not even allowed to bend down and tie my shoes (literally what I was told, my head is to be above my heart at all times)

The highly reflective shirt is a great idea! That way if I stop to help or have my own trouble I can be seen. In fact I still need to get my glo sticks purchased.

Re: Awkard moments or negative responses while using your ED

I teach high school science. Over the years I have had a EDC pouch with tools. The Tide pen is the most popular being borrowed. One student who was needing superglue to repair her eyeglasses asked "why doyou have all that?" gesturing to kit. "your using it aren't you?" Once when covering a fellow te...

Re: What would you do...with your tax return?!

Pay off my retirement. Since I work for the state my military service time can count. Pay off husband's truck payment (and use that to pay off my car, then the house). Buy upgrades for my ar 15. chin rest, brass catcher, Magpul magazines. Then another rifle.

Re: Sewing Equipment

Oldest daughter who was down on her luck was staying with us and using the sewing machine table as a computer/work desk. I took it out now that she has moved. Husband is in favor of me making it work.

comment from me "this is the first time I've actually looked at the machine itself."

I like the ones that have pouches or sheaths for knives.

Re: Looking to get into archery

I would not talk to a large store, but try to find a smaller store. They are happy for you money, usually love the craft. I picked up a compound bow at an auction (archery store owner had passed away). I drive 20 minutes to a store because the local did not seem to appreciate my business. Granted I ...

Re: Buying a Good Medieval Crossbow

It shoots fine.

I am having a blast shooting it.

Crossbows are different from rifles in that it jumps rather than kicks.

My neighbors sent their friend to shoot it and they are somewhat handy, as it my husband, so they are discussing making on, or a slingshot crossbow.

Re: Buying a Good Medieval Crossbow

Rather than start a new thread. This is the crossbow I got from New World Arbelest. My husband finally finished the display/storage for it. It is a little weird since the only place that had a spot to hang it was by my bed. (hope I got the "sharing" thing right on google + if not just message me and...

Beautiful. If I buy another knife my husband will be upset. Maybe if I talk to my son for a mother's day present. I have dealt with this company before and they are excellent to work with. There is a thrill realizing the package is from Katmandu. I showed my marketing professor husband the package....

Our machine gave out today, So I used the hand wringer, a wash board, buckets, plunger (bleached from bathroom use) and oldest unemployed daughter to get laundry done. When hubby used credti card points to buy the replacement water pump, I asked him to buy the washer/plunger also. Well, I already kn...

I like the Blackhawk for what I use it for. If you are more survival minded, you might check out the Maxpedition versions. You can check out of lot of reviews on youtube. They have more loops and space. I bought one for my brother who is assembling his kit. He and I no longer work at the same school...
