You should have ran, WW, because down will kill you!

Nice setup!

Do you have a link/additional info on that automatic reel? I really like the size of it.

I like CeeDub's cookbooks quite a bit.

For beginning instruction, Lodge's "Camp Dutch Oven Cooking 101" is really good.

Re: Storing Ammo for ZPAW - 5.56 - 55gr or 62gr or ?

I have a ton of ammo around. However, I really don't think it's necessary. If you have enough to cover 3-6 mags, I'd say your golden. This is a disaster prep board, I can't really envision any disaster that would require oodles of ammo. Don't take me wrong, I agree with this. My primary preparation...

Storing Ammo for ZPAW - 5.56 - 55gr or 62gr or ?

I'd like to hear some opinion on what 5.56 loads people are stocking for preparation purposes. Myself, I'm primarily putting up Federal XM193 - it's cheap, it's about as fail-safe in terms of functioning as exists, and from my reading, fairly effective. As for the 62 grain M855 penetrator loads, the...

Re: Fun with Kydex.

Scratched the living shit out of a brand new BRKT Bravo I with the first Kydex sheath I made. I used the rest of it for ax covers and went back to leather. It makes a damn nice sheath, but going forward I'll buy them rather than make them.

Truck tool box security?

Friends, I want to get a cross-bed tool box for my F150, such as Knack, Delta, etc. I'd like to hear your thoughts/experiences on how secure they are against break-in and theft. I'd like to keep my mobile ZPAW gear in it, which would include some things I would hate to lose, and wouldn't want in the...

I shouldn't have to point this out, but my intention was to provide information that would to give ZSer's pause when contemplating doing business with Botach, not to criticize Crypto. I placed one order with Botach myself, before the story came to light. I will not do any further business with them,...

books on survival topics and self reliant living. learn some skills, those never wear out or get stolen/damaged, etc. I recommned Cody Lundin's When All Hell Breaks Loose - but others are good too. Re: Coghlan's Water Filter?

I think that you are forgetting that treating the water only kills the pathogens. it doesn't get out some of the other nasties that a good filter will also remove. You're correct, I was neglecting that. I bought an MSR Miniworks and Dromedary today - darn you guys for being right. But I did get a g...

Re: Coghlan's Water Filter?

I think I was unclear. I meant carrying it as an adjunct to the MIOX. Filter with the cheap-ass Coghlan POS to get out crap, then MIOX to kill everything.

But....you guys are right, and I let my cheapness steer me wrong. Cheap is usually more expensive. Chastened, damnit.

Coghlan's Water Filter?

Gentleman, Any opinions on the Coghlan's Water Filter, here? http://www.amazon.com/Coghlans-8800-Water-Filter/dp/B0000AUSFN/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289690945&sr=8-1 I checked out the MSR Miniworks yesterday, and found it prohibitively heavy (and expensive to boot - at least for what I plan for it). ...

Equip it with Tactical Tailor straps and belt and you're still under $100.
