Re: Easy cheap mods for a remington 870 wingmaster

Best mod ever!

My photography skills are lacking, but this is the only mod I do to all of my 870s and it only costs like five bucks. It's a magnetic front sight that sits on your rib.

Re: Cleaning rod on an AR

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Two cleaning rods with threaded ends into the holes of a free float barrel nut: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e237/slomofo562/ARBuildpics/00877868.jpg This AR has a YHM rail with YHM endcap. The endcap is nice because it'll line the two holes up so th...

Re: Cleaning rod on an AR

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but the threaded part of a modern cleaning rod will slide into any of the holes on a free float barrel nut. If you get a YHM rail with YHM endcap and low profile gas block underneath the rail, you can slide a cleaning rod through the hole in the end cap and into...

The butler creeks have suited me just fine, but I hear a lot of other guys complaining about them. I use both steel and plastic feed lips, never had a problem with either one.

Re: cheap guns?

Get a used New England Firearms or H&R (same gun) 12 gauge break action for $50-$60, then pick up a few cases of shot shells, and go clay pigeon shooting. It'll be money well spent. I've gone through dozens of firearms over the years and the one that I shoot the most and has brought me the most joy ...

New stock set on one and the other is coming together. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e237/slomofo562/ARBuildpics/815eb452.jpg 8) Don't have a vise at home, so I couldn't torque the barrel nut tight enough to get the gas tube to go in on the stainless one. Doesn't matter though because I don't ha...

If it came out in .308, had similar pricing, and shot sub moa, that'd probably be reason enough for my frugal butt to fork out the extra dough for one of them.

Re: Sig announces 556 in 7.62x39

I don't see why so many people are throwing such a hissy fit over this. The sig uses AK internals as it is, they might as well use the AK caliber. I'd rock one if not for the steep pricing.

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Firearms edition (PICS AND LINKS ONLY)

Decided to build a retro, but didn't quite have all the parts (like the 20" pencil barrel) and I didn't want to spend very much money on it, so I made due with what I had. I present to you, a $337 semi-retro: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e237/slomofo562/ARBuildpics/594bf129.jpg Current build in...

Re: What if UPS delivered a gun to the wrong house?

I haven't had a problem with guns/ammo, but UPS has given me dozens of headaches over the years. I have a koi pond and ordered koi onine multiple times when I first dug out my pond. My packages were clearly marked "Live animals" and a few of them ended up dying because of the areas UPS chose to leav...

Re: Arsenal AK proprietary parts?!?

I don't know how far off topic this thread has gone because I only read the first post, but to answer the original question. Arsenal AK parts are somewhat proprietary. Saiga 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 rifles are all built off of the AK74 platform. Everything about the two rifles is the same except for the ...

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Firearms edition (PICS AND LINKS ONLY)

I never really cared for the papashas, but I do want a full auto weapon. Where would I go about finding a transferrable PPS-43? My recent modification. I'm not really into modded AKs, but the AMD wire stock was too difficult to shoot with, so I had to tacticlown. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Firearms edition (PICS AND LINKS ONLY)

I'm normally an AK traditionalist, but the AMD65 and Polish Tantal have boggled my mind as to why they were created or even issued to military troops. No cheek weld, can't even form a chin weld, so I had to buy a cheek piece. Even with the cheek piece, I still have trouble getting a clear sight pict...

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Firearms edition (PICS AND LINKS ONLY)

I've never liked FALs, I always looked at them as too heavy, too ugly, and too expensive to shoot, but I still wanted one for my collection, so I picked up this Entreprise STG-58 today. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e237/slomofo562/Guns/622c0ba8.jpg After handling it and noticing it weighs a lot...

If you do another build and don't go for a railed frontend, you can always pick up a Midwest rail height gas block which I think is the only block out there that matches the A3 upper height.
