Re: COVID-19 Chat Thread
Here is a movie of my isolation room at UTMB Galveston before I got out. Nice place and a great hospital. Interstingly enough they let me walk out from the 11th floor. No wheelchair or anything, I got on the elevator and left. https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipMifoppC8nPo8W_t8CVcmqDRNSEyg08RIs2W...

Re: COVID-19 Chat Thread
I wrote a really long essay about the whole experience on it on page 38 of this thread the same day I got out of the hospital. It went like this ..... Saturday- A night of a ton of sinus drainage, it’s elm pollen season so naturally I thought it was my hay fever. Sunday - I woke up a little run down...

Re: COVID-19 Chat Thread
Doing great, thanks for asking. Today is the first day without an albuterol breathing treatment. I'm looking forward to exercising starting Monday.... after only 2 weeks out of the hospital I'm feeling pretty lucky.

Re: COVID-19 Chat Thread
I'm pretty sure that I am a false negative. In the hospital the radiologist pointed out that my CAT scan presented as classic covid. A viral pneumonia in both lungs with ground glass opacity and other things I vaguely remember with a 102.8 degree temp. My flu / strep / RSV swabs were negative. 4 day...

Re: COVID-19 Thread
I just got back from my Primary Care Doc. I'm doing well, lungs sound much better. I can start working out again in 2 weeks. I told the Doc that I believe my covid test was a false negative based on my symptoms and the results of my CT scan. The hospital radiologist told me my lungs appeared as a te...

Re: COVID-19 Thread
TC I'm glad you are well. My cough is down by about half. I still have the occasional coughing fit. I have my own personal belief that it's too coincidental for me to blindly believe that I am covid negative. I will continue my self quarantine for the final week. A mutation makes sense, also the int...

Re: COVID-19 Thread
I got the results of my covid test from the hospital about an hour ago. Wednesday night I was hospitalized overnight with my temperature spiking to 102.8 and dry cough. I was swabbed and tested for flu a&b, strep and RSV. Those results were negative. I was covid tested with the deep swabs, I believe...

Re: COVID-19 Thread
I have been around this forum for along time, but like others I drifted off, stopping by every now and again when things got weird. I am waiting to see if my Covid-19-19 test comes back positive or negative. I spent last night in the hospital and got released this afternoon. I know you guys like rea...

Social media reported the league city water supply was going to be contaminated or turned off and to limit toilet flushing and showering ........not true per League City police face book, same bs was posted about door to door looting. Social media has been very misleading.

Re: Hurricanes 2017
We lost more people to the evacuation (and total miss) of hurricane rita than to this flood. Not only did netflix not fail, but AT&T has forgiven any data overages. The kroger by my house was only closed for 2 days. I still have preps for family and guest for about 2 more weeks. Tequila is low but g...

Re: Hurricanes 2017
I'm happy to report that the rain is tapering off in League City and Dickinson. We are high and dry with electricity and internet with only minor interruption to both. Our friend in Dickinson had their house flood and are unintended house guests. We couldn't be happier to have them and their dogs. T...

Re: Ambidextrous (or left handed) inexpensive semi auto?
As a left eye dominant southpaw I would recommend a ordinary run of the mill ar-15 / m-4gery. It shoots fine for lefties (use your trigger finger for the safety ). I did install an ambidextrous safety, but I am so used to a "regular" AR that I don't use it . As a side note, most lever guns are lefty...

Re: New production Polish NATO Jerry Cans $19.99
Just an FYI, while $20 seems like a good deal, don't forget the sale is without a spout, which they sell for $14 (but note they don't look to have the breather tube NATO Jerry can spouts are supposed to have to prevent the glugging). So your really looking at $34, plus shipping. Now that is still a...

That Juan of the Dead's awesomeness was mentioned renews my respect for this website. However, The Boy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse has been overlooked.

The man who may have saved the world on Sept 26,1983
Here is a little history from 33 years ago. I was stationed in Giessen Germany at the time and had no idea this was going on………. Stanislav Petrov is a retired lieutenant colonel of the Soviet Air Defence Forces. On September 26, 1983, just three weeks after the Soviet military had shot down Korean A...

If you like the M113, you may like the M577 Command Post Carrier even more. It's a M113 with a raised roof and and attached shelter extension (big ass canvas tent). I got to care for and sometimes live in one for awhile, compliments of Uncle Sam. http://i1042.photobucket.com/albums/b424/lance54r/m57...

Re: Best Jerry cans---and where to buy
I just bought 2 sets of these. NATO spec from the EU, not a chinese knock off. I passed on the spout (I use a super siphon) $119 for a set of 4. It was $147 delivered. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NATO-Swiss-Army-Fuel-Gas-Jerry-Can-20-Liter-Set-of-4-Military-steel-5-Gallon-/301987690814?hash=item464fde79...
