Re: Atlantic tropics....

My main sources of weather info have been https://www.weather.gov , and of course https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ , but I've also had my eye on the majority NC power company, Duke Energy, outage reporting web site: https://www.duke-energy.com/outages/current-outages . They have a few decent statistics to...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

That is amazing! I remember when I first learned what an Angle was. I knew a guy and nobody could shoot faster than him. Most played with Brass Eagle Stingrays and Spyders. His gun was finiky, but when it worked, he dominated. I remember looking at the Shockers in the magazines. That was a good tim...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I used to play with an electric Spyder with an electric hopper. Had a lot of fun doing it. My electro-pneumatic markers are almost antiques: an '01 Angel LCD, '02 Matrix LED and '03 Shocker SFT. So far I've been able to keep them running with spare parts, circuit boards, and solenoids scrounged off...

Re: Mossberg 500 based home defense setup

The Mossberg 500 does come with swivels that work very well, so I plan to use those along with a quick adjust sling. You're gonna want to mount the sling on the side at the front, and on the side or top of the stock at the back.... http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af242/boomslang45/870_001.jpg h...

Those Cockers, and the original pump versions, "Snipers," I believe? Sniper I, Sniper II? Those are classic. Autocockers, you either love 'em or hate 'em. I have an old DYE Reflex cocker, but it is in serious need of a rebuild and retiming. http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af242/boomslang45/DYE-...

Re: Mossberg 500 based home defense setup

why the folding stock? sure it takes up a little less space to store it, but adds another action before your gun is ready for use. also keep in mind that a pistol grip on a Mossberg means you have to move your hand to disengage the safety. I would also recommend adding a light to it, so you can pos...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Sigh...ye old Minimag.... I have an Automag, bolted into an M1 Carbine stock. It is fun. I have not shot that in probably 10 years. I got that one back in '94. It was my first "good" marker. Used it for many a 5-man woodsball tourney, 24 hour scenario game and tons of regular recball, until I got m...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

That spray-&-bake Wheeler cerama coat sticks to stainless steel fairly well, but I believe it only comes in black, FDE, foliage green, and OD green. It's kinda pricey at $27 for a small can, but it can be removed fairly easily with something like Klean-Strip. Some Wheeler FDE on my old stainless Min...

Water, and have some cash on hand. Power outage means no credit card systems... Hopefully he also has enough offline/unpowered activities to keep him occupied (games, books, etc.) for a few days if needed. If he's worried about no a/c, then maybe a battery powered fan. There are some on Amazon whic...

We got right at 8 inches of rain here at the OShea Armadillo Ranch & Coyote Preserve. I'm not sure about the wind. My gauge never showed more than 10 mph, and I know that's wrong.

Well, at one point we had over 3000 accounts out, but when the crews got Ono Island and northwest Gulf Shores back on it went down to around 1500 accounts.....most of those remaining are in the Fort Morgan and Bon Secour areas. I'm sure the War Room is still jumpin' (the dispatch/system control cent...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

And that brace is mediocre. They shift at times. I've run 2. I much prefer the new SBA3 braces on other kits from PSA. They use a standard buffer tube as well. Did you use the KAK blade along with the KAK dimpled buffer tube, or with some other brand of pistol tube? I have the KAK blade and tube on...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

The chart is pretty dated. I don't know how many AR makers are out there but it was well North of 30 last I checked. Some of the more popular ones like PSA, Anderson, Sig, Windham, Bravo, LWRC, Aero, LaRue and a few other high quality makers are not on there. All make quality guns, some better than...
