Re: Prepping when there is no pharmacy

Just a few thoughts that should be reviewed by someone smarter than myself: Depression - St. John's Wort High blood pressure - baby aspirin Psychosis - benadryl, tobacco Allergic reaction - benadryl Insomnia - benadryl But I think the biggest part is not being a lone wolf, having your family/group k...

Re: Prepping when there is no pharmacy

suppose there is a disaster where you must go cold turkey.... what should you do in that case?

The only thing I can think of is knock yourself out with benadryl while you wait for it to subside.
Or maybe start tapering if it looks like the pharmacy is going to be out.

Re: Prepping when there is no pharmacy

Suppose I'm not as physically helpful. I can't do complex tasks. I can't do strenuous labor. But I feel that if I help prep now by helping stock the pantry and stuff, as well as gaining knowledge, then maybe I can help pull my weight. You know those guys that always say, "If something happens I am c...

Re: Prepping when there is no pharmacy

I will probably send you a PM, but mental illness. I am thinking about talking to the one in the family who is the most prep oriented and letting her know about my concerns and things we can do.... something as simple as nicotine can be a mood elevator, and benadryl can sedate. It's not as good as a...

Prepping when there is no pharmacy

This seems like the best place for this thread. What if you have a long-term condition that needs medication and a disaster arose where you might be cut off from that medication indefinitely? What if your condition made you less valuable to your group/family in a disaster? How can you be pro-active ...

Re: My personal experience with Krav Maga

A caution about BJJ though, the focus in the majority of schools is weaponless ground fighting and you can spend a lot of time training in elaboret techniques you don't need on the street. Better to train at a school that teaches ground fighting as part of self-defence, you aren't trying to tap any...

Two belts that work pretty well.... Wilderness Instructor's Belt. Re: best cheap tactical carbine (done to death im sure)

im not necessarily planning on shooting 15k rounds, but i would like a gun that will survive that many or as CLOSE to it as possible in my current price range. like i said, im looking for something decent that isnt gonna crap out in the first 5k rounds or so. and it a wrol/paw situation arises and ...

Re: best cheap tactical carbine (done to death im sure)

For the price I would go AK. A good Century rifle should fit the bill nicely, just be sure that you check it for problems. If you can find the budget a BCM upper on your choice of lower would be good too. The M1 carbine, as nice a rifle as it is, is out of the running based on ammo cost alone. 1080...

Re: best cheap tactical carbine (done to death im sure)

Yeah, but availability of .30 carbine ammo post-SHTF? Forget about it. I know people always say "consider your own ammo as the last ammo on earth" or whatever, but the cost of .30 carbine ammo and it's lackluster performance compared to what you could be getting for the price is a big downside, IMO...

Re: My personal survival plan. South USA peeps check it

Plastic water bottles are NOT intended for long term water storage. I would advise against buying two years worth of water this way. Agreed. You really need food grade barrels for potable water. Check with your local bottling companies (Pepsi, Coke, etc.) They receive hundreds of 55 gallon barrels ...

I envy your fish tank and digital camera. I think the bag would work fine. The biggest thing is weight and size.... if it's too big you won't take it anywhere and it will be hard to haul around, if it's too small you can't fit the stuff you want in there. The D-rings are a nice touch. See what you c...

Re: Hello from Oklahoma.........

Hello from OKC! I have me a few people from Oklahoma here and they have all been nice. I would be up for a gathering too. Maybe a range day, 4 wheel event, or even a movie to start with. A range day would be fine with me so long as a) someone was there to enforce rules (even if its just a ZS person...
