MilCopp 2016: Time to Get Caught Up! Who Wants to TRAIN?

Household 6 has granted verbal permission to go shoot with the boys, so lets get the shit rolling! Past events at Big Piney have been epic by all accounts, and I'm itching to get caught up. So, who's up for training? What dates? I need to put in for time off. ETA: MilCopp vids on YouTube because I f...

I'm certain you can get solids in .45/70, don't they use it for dangerous game?

Overpenetration is not a concern when trying to take a Cape Buffalo, just try not to get penetrated by him...

When in doubt, just Glock it already

I love my 42, tho I haven't got the Warren 2-dots on it yet.

Glocks just work and they get the best gear first, too.

It sure does help when you can find what you need for your gun...

I'm not sure when they'll be available, but I did see an announcement on either Facebook or Aim Surplus about it.
Probably a good idea, I see those all over the stores. Nice looking, but I'll take chrome, thanks...

Re: Front site idea about ammo in your go-bag.

NY law presumably makes getting spare mags harder, and the 'ammo tax' would encourage one not to toss out ammo that might be useful in the future, or sold off for a few tax-free dollars. On the other hand, boxes of ammo stored in someone's house are no use to you if you find a gun you need to use. A...

Are you Autistic? Or do you just have social anxieties? You don't want to mis-represent yourself to your local LEO's. If the LEO's are supposed to be rousting homeless, they won't often search bags unless someone looks to be dealing/trafficking drugs, it's just a waste of time. Also, if the ordinanc...

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

Soooo, my wife was bitching about me carrying a G35 OWB all the time, so I traded a rifle I didn't need for a G42. Took a loss on the rifle, but a tiny pistol I can carry in my PT shorts beats a rifle I never use in the end. Glad I grabbed it around the beginning of the summer, as I have not put on ...

A lesson from my dad whilst hunting: Diet 7-Up takes blood and tallow off a knife very well, and can be used for washing your hands clean just as well.

No sugar in the soda means things don't get sticky.

I need to start doing that. I am out of shape. So I think as a starting point I will just load up a pack with some radio gear and then walk to the park to go play radio. There is a gym near here I have been thinking of joining. Although my diet is working great for weight loss (28 lbs so far); diet...

I was the team Gunny for Task Force Iron Hammer for the first few years, before family took priority, and Shiloh is dead on. Have fun, be honest and considerate. If you're a dick, people will be a dick to you, and you won't have fun. It will hurt. I played milsim for a few years. Fun game, just don'...

Re: looking for a reasonably priced ccw, have a few needs/des

I'd like to start by pointing out that, when I bought my first pistol, I had just enough experience with the M9 to know that I fucking hated it . My buddies had 1911's, so I shot them a bit, and liked it. I bought a few of my own, shot the crap out of them, and was very happy. I tried someone's G17,...

Re: Front site idea about ammo in your go-bag.

I can see this being handy ONLY in very limited situations. 1) I don't have a weapon, but hope to find one along my route. Given that work prohibits weapons, and takes me hours away from my POV, I can see this being better than nothing. The area is likely pretty thick with guns, but is rural, so mos...

Re: Dealing with sleep deprivation

Pushing too late is a waste. I should have stopped and slept HOURS before I did. Your brain really does start to fail, so just sleep already! 5 Hour Energy works well for me, but 2 MAX each day, or that goes badly, as well. Better just to have one mid-morning (with food!) and nurse a Mt Dew. Good fo...

Re: Store Owner Uses an AR15 Against Armed Robbers

Background: Milwaukee, sadly, is blessed with great state laws, but cursed with anti-gun police leadership. Our state laws were untangled in recent years, enough so that the Milwaukee city Police Chief accused the NRA of writing them. We now have the least restrictive CCW statutes in the US, aided i...

How many firearms do you know of that you can conceal hundreds of rounds for in a coffee cup? .22LR really is a great round when the chips are down. Nothing else is as common, or small, or light, and still goes BANG! When you think about it, a 10/22 with a couple thousand rounds of ammo doesn't rea...

Glad others are starting young. My dad taught me so much as a child that I'm still trying to remember it all, reference it with other known data, and teach it to my kids in a useable, factual manner. Dad's teachings were a bit hillbilly, and while I have nothing against hillbillies, much of it lacks...

Is the TT frame anything more than a branded ALICE frame? I like the 1606AC much more than the ALICE frame, though I've only used the two on ALICE bags. Having tried a 1609 framed bag, I think it has some interesting capabilities, and I rather wish the 1606 could nest on top of a hydration system li...

So far I have the MOE AKM up front, and I like it. Zhukov folder might go on the other rifle.
