Re: Kansas City Missouri/KCK

Hi all, I'm located in kck, and have been lurking here for a while. Also wanted to let the group know that apple market in Westwood(47th and mission) is closing as of 8/31 and is having an inventory clearance sale right now. May be a good opportunity to stock up on canned goods and the likes for yo...

And it sure will be nice to be the first group on the entire refinery walking around with the new digital units while they the rest are still packing the bricks. What kind of refinery do you work on? I work on an oil refinery occasionally - I'm in IT so it's not every day, just when I have to upgra...

sveach- I hooked you up with the FB group. We will be having another meeting very soon to get a charity event squared away. Everyone, I am very happy with the meeting last night. Greetings. Do you all have a storefront? Family of mine had told me about your store a few years ago. Welcome to the site. They have a storefront in Lenexa, KS and it is full of win! I picked up a couple holsters, flashlights, batteries, etc from there. They have a huge holster selection, best I've...

Re: duluth trading co firehose work wear

I have two pairs as well, the cargo pant version. They are super comfortable, and all the pockets are awesome. I wear mine constantly but I work in an office so mine don't see as much abuse as some people's do. Still a thumbs up from me! I'm going to buy a lot more when I get some spare cash.

Re: Looking into buying a Suzuki KATANA

I ride a GS500. Similar bike to the Katana but it weighs a less and is much more maneuverable. It should be cheaper on insurance since it's a 500 instead of a 600 or 750. I'm 6'5" and 280 lbs and it's fairly comfortable so I wouldn't be too worried about that. However - I do think the Katana may be ...

Re: BOV Questions - Motorcycle - Practical or Not?

Some people will say it's not practical. You sure as hell can't carry a lot with you. Yes, your passenger can carry a backpack. But - trust me, you don't want them to unless you have to. Makes for sore shoulders. in a bugout, OK, fine... Saddlebags/panniers can hold a decent amount. All depends on w...

Re: Restoring an old shotgun

Finch, Thanks for the advice. I think I'll probably do that. I did some more research under the high standard name and found a diagram AND a place that sells parts. I can get a replacement magazine tube for $16. New front sight pin, new handguard, etc. So I may go that route, cut down a new barrel, ...

Re: Restoring an old shotgun

The gun isn't an antique. Well, it may be old enough to be one, as from what I can find, it was produced in 1952. But I'm not keeping it as one. I shoot this one fairly regularly. The gun is a: JC Higgins 20 12 gauge Sears Roebuck and Co 583.59 2 3-4 chamber It was apparently made by a company calle...

Restoring an old shotgun

A few years ago my father gave me his 12 gauge shotgun. I currently use it as a home defense gun, but I'd like to refinish it and bring it back to it's former glory. It's a Sears and Roebuck 12 gauge, pump action 12 gauge. Basically, the same thing as an 870/500. The problems: http://i7.photobucket....
