Re: Is a Remotely Piloted Vehicle Part of Your Preps?

Very nice. I'd consider one of those, but I'm currently tied up in building my first "serious" quadcopter. I'll be starting out LOS flying the 470, with a Flip cam aboard at first. Once I'm confident with the platform I'll look into fpv options. I'm still grooming my Bix3 for duration type work. I ...

Re: Contour Action Camera

I have a GoPro Hero 4, HTC RE, and SJ4000. I have to say, the SJ4000 is my favorite. I got it for $79.99 shipped from Amazon. I use it for everything from my dashcam, to my Quadcopter, to hanging it off a shotgun. It uses the same mounting system the GoPro uses so there are no shortage of accessorie...

Re: Is a Remotely Piloted Vehicle Part of Your Preps?

I have a DJI Phantom 3. The No. 1 reason for getting it was the photography. I'd had the Professional 4k model since it came out and I'm still blown away at the video I can get with this quadcopter. The 2nd reason I got it is for what the OP is describing. Information gathering in a PAW scenario. Th...

Re: Are you good with what you have ?

It could be a lot better.

I have over 1,500rds of 5.7x28mm. Mostly SS197 but a few hundred in S4M, SS190, PenetraTOR, and ProtecTOR.
1k in 9mm.
~ 900 of .223.
120 of 380
and 500 .22lr.

I desperately need more 9mm, .223, and 22lr.

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Knives Edition

I have been looking for a small 2 handed machete for a long time. Either I found small machetes with only enough room for one hand on the handle or a 2 handed machete that was very long/heavy. Finally, Cold Steel came out with the 2 handed Latin Machete @ 30" overall. I wanted it a little shorter so...

Select Fire 7" M4 - Suppressor, RDS, Magnifier, avg, sling, etc...
FN FiveseveN - Trijicon RMR, TLR1, Suppressor
Cold Steel 2 handed Latin machete
SOG Fusion Spirit
SOG Seal Pup

Joe Rogan would be who I'd take. He knows his way around a bow and a gun and he's a TKD Blackbelt. He's also funny.

May 5th?

I seriously might be down for it. Is it going to be the same place we did the 5.7 tests? I'll have to see if I can get that day off.

Re: Combat tactics 101: Melee weapon choice

When SHTF, I will always have 2 items with me no matter what the situation is. My FiveseveN and Musashi Ko Katana. I understand there is a lot of hate for the katana but I've trained with one more or less a few days a week since I started Taekwondo when I was 12. It takes a lot of practice but it is...

TerryGecko, I believe I recall you putting an awesome holographic site on your gun. Did that happen? If so, can I ask what holster you use? I'm interested in a red dot to match my PS90 but I have a Safariland 6004 and it (and other similar holsters) make fitment an issue. What's your solution? Righ...

Re: Master Piece Arms 5.7x28 Pistol

Yeah, I'm talking about terminal performance. There are very few reasons to engage someone at that range with a pistol but they are plenty effective to 100 meters. I'm sure you seen the test that we performed comparing 5.7x28mm to 22magnum. We found that they aren't very similar . Anyhow, I'm not t...

Re: Master Piece Arms 5.7x28 Pistol

Why would you say a 5.7x28mm projectile isn't effective at 75 yards? They are effective well beyond 75 yards, especially if you can shoulder the weapon. I am completely comfortable shooting my FsN at far distances. I have just been wanting something Uzi-size that shoots 5.7x28mm for a while. If S d...

Man I wish I grew up in that era.

I need to quite screwing around and do the gummy bear test. There is an outdoor range I can go to but they are quite a bit away.

Re: Master Piece Arms 5.7x28 Pistol

I have been painstakingly looking for an mp5k/tp9-size firearm that shoots 5.7x28mm to sbr. I've looked at AR57's, Excel Arms, even buying a CAA Roni and modifying it to accept my FsN. Something smaller than an sbr PS90. This may just be what I've been looking for. Like Regular Guy said, put a mini ...

If we can see (at least) ProtecTOR ballistics out of this I'll be all over it. I've always said the FiveseveN is, in my humble opinion, one of the best handguns available. However, I'll drop it with the quickness if something else comes out that outperforms it. A Glock 17 that can be easily converte...

Want to know how to make your Five-seveN even better? Here are my first impressions of the newly accurized FsN. I'm simply amazed how light and smooth the trigger is now - there used to be a small "hiccup", a rough spot which is now gone. Additionally, the trigger weight was virtually cut in half. ...

Re: is a PS90 practical for post-SHTF life?

Bullzeye, while I agree with much of what you say you are also engaging in the sort of reasoning you seem to be railing against in your post. For example, there are a lot of reasons why most police, even SWAT guys, almost never use full auto in the weapons they have that feature in so its certainly...
