Re: Article: PoodleShooter AR15 - .223 too small for Deer?

i killed a few poodles last season w/ 75g Tap. All were pretty much neck shots, which were pretty clean. Now some did bark for a few seconds. Hell, i have even killed a few w/ 5.45x39 surplus before. One poodle ran about 35 yards, w/ a double lung/heart shot. I know shot placement is key, but i felt...

Re: Is the XDm worth the extra $100 over the XD?

I'm a lil late to this discussion, but i own both. I absolutely loved my XD (5in) for 2 or 3 years now. Over 2k thru her and the only malfunction was from a woman lipwristing it (stovepipe). My XDm has about 800 thru w/ 0 malfunctions and she couldnt make it stovepipe. The XDm is hands down more acc...

I have an old post w/ this ammo http://www.zombiehunters.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=68274 This ammo would keyhole constantly w/ a dedicated 22 upper 1:12 twist rate. Long story short, 3 1/2inches @ 100 yards wasn't hard to achieve. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/Rube7979/CIMG2313.jpg

Re: Any alternatives to an Aimpoint T-1?

Bought my setup off AR15.com's EE for $550, LNIB T-1 Larue QD I talked to John from Aimpoint, who pretty much sold me on a micro. Told me the H-1 was made of pretty much the same stuff as the T-1, but lacks the coating for NV. I was really close to buying a H-1, but got lucky w/ a T-1. 2 years and s...

Re: Anti walk pins...?

The ATF likes to quite literally re-write it's rulebook whenever they feel like it, but even as they have most recently written it, what you have in your possession now (an AR that slam-fires with crappy ammo with soft primers) has already been ruled to be an illegal machinegun. Do not give them th...

Re: How effective is frangible ammo?

I recently saw some frangible 5.56 for a good deal, and I'm curious how effective it is? How do the terminal ballistics compare to XM193? How frangible is it really, in a suburban home defense shooting, etc? When terminal ballistics are taken into consideration the reliability of fragmentation is a...

Nice shooting, so that wound in the lower belly is the exit wound? Please give more details as to where you hit the poodle and how nuch dammage was done to internal organs please, this looks like a good review for the gun and ammunition if we could get more details. Here in Canada we can't hunt big...

.223 Poodle killer pix, graphic will offend Poodle lovers

I was hunting Large Eared poodles yesterday with no luck at all. Most of the poodles were not legal to take. Before it got too dark a lone poodle popped up about 20 yards away. Wanting to kill a poodle for sausage, i took the shot @ 15 yards from my stand. She dropped and all was over in a few secon...

Re: B West AK 47 Can she be saved?

I just got off the phone with Red Jacket Firearms. For 350.00 they will build her on a new receiver. What do you think of these people? http://www.redjacketfirearms.com/services/services.html That is an EXCELLENT price!!!! Those are highly recommended builders, but usually have a hell of a wait. Re: B West AK 47 Can she be saved?

Keep in mind that heat treating requires the right oven and process. The receiver must be demilled perfectly and the barrel pressed off. A press is pretty much required for this project, we use a 20ton. The rivets for this build are not like others and require a special tool to form the heads. This ...

Re: B West AK 47 Can she be saved?

Ha! Sell it to me :D What i would do is... Demill Attempt to Heat treat the receiver... Depending on how much carbon is left.. If heat treating takes build her, may have to use custom rivots but it can be done. Worst case, build her on a 1mm receiver. Decide on the finish, probably would moly resin...

Re: Romanian AK Problem

Glad everything worked out!! Depending on the experience of building or working on an AK..... NEVER modify the rifle first or at all. Magazines are a dime a dozen and can be easily replaced. Some people have the habit of taking too much material off; and once that material is taking off its gone for...
