Re: Seattle: The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone

I dunno... I'll bet if you spin it right you could easily rent out any vacant apartments there. Describe it in glowing terms, with reference to "summer of love" and being " right in the heart of CHOP, that wonderland of autonomy and free expression, the hottest neighborhood for those of the "in" cr...

Re: Which is the better weapon Kukri or Katana?

I have a nice Dirk, and Sgain Dubh, in Damascus...... and I have some of the Cold steel cheapos (Spatha, Gladius) you see at the Sporting good stores, but would like to get into the basket hilt

Re: Which is the better weapon Kukri or Katana?

Yeah, I wasn't *quite* ready to pay even Cold Steel prices on a Ren Fair piece....Maybe soon. The Deepeka said battle ready at Kult Of Athena, and was like $150. The quandary, is it's mostly decorative, but something irks my about having a weapon that's essentially fake, that I can"t use in a pinch

Re: Which is the better weapon Kukri or Katana?

If I "HAD" to pick, I'd go katana because it's longer. That's it. Hopefully, my baseball seeing will easily translate to difficult katana skills. But I'd prefer a blunt weapon. And if I had my pick of blade, it'd be a traditional machete. But now I'm thinking kukri. I dunno... I train a little in H...

Re: PSA AR-10 Handguard

https://monstrumtactical.com/dpms-lr-308-m-lok-handguard-15-inch-free-float/ Here's what I have ordered. MLOK it is. Trying to save a little for some decent glass I've been really pleased with my Primary Arms optics over the years. PA is probably my go-to on a budget, Vortex if I've a bit of money ...

Re: PSA AR-10 Handguard

Well, I'll post pics when it's done. Sounds like I'm getting my feet wet with MLOK, because I'll actually hunt with this rifle too, vs don't with my AR/AK. And weight SHOULD factor in the decision making process. Thanks!

Re: PSA AR-10 Handguard

So, My PSA Ar-10 Kit rifle I put together 8 months ago is ready for some upgrades. I'm looking for input on the hand guard. I want to be able to hang accessories off it, Bipod, canted offset sights, maybe a light. I have no experience with MLOK or KEYMOD systems, and lean toward just a regular rail...

Re: A present for my wife ...

Marlin makes a fine lever gun as well. Man, I have to disagree there. Marlin used to make a fine lever gun, but their current offerings are sub-par. And the models they made in the years after they moved the factory are downright junk. I bought my last one around 2003, so I won't nay-say you... I'l...

Re: A present for my wife ...

Marlin makes a fine lever gun as well. However, if price is a factor, the 30/30 is probably the cheapest, most well rounded lever gun caliber out there. Well made by many companies. https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/rifles/marlin-model-336-lever-action-rifle/p/p30459 This is new,...

I live about an hour away--- local fishwrapper posted this: https://times-herald.com/news/2020/06/local-leaders-encourage-apd-officers-to-apply-in-coweta That open offer to the members of the APD to come fill open PD positions in a nearby county is IMO something that is could be compelling to membe...

Re: Atlanta Walkout

As is typical for 2020 there are denials and "clarifications" over this matter. “This is not an organized thing, it’s not a blue flu, it’s not a strike, it’s nothing like that. What it actually is, is officers protesting that they’ve had enough and they don’t want to deal with it any longer,” he sa...
