Re: What are you playing?

I just recently got back into gaming and picked up the newer version of Minecraft. I was a bit hesitant to upgrade because I figured I'd lose my progress, but everything was converted to the newest version and all is good. Took me a bit to figure out the new game mechanics Mojang implemented, but on...

Re: Unknown Gun

I have yet to see a C96 in any gun shop out here. I've seen plenty of Luger P-08s, Tokarevs of varying countries of origin (the Romanian ones seem to be the most prevalent) and the occasional Nagant revolver, but never a C96. I've seen plenty online, though. Unfortunately, they're usually either way...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

I was never very good at Chemistry, however, would the accumulated chalk residue make an excellent humidity barrier for the stored ammo? Added two more .50 cal ammo cans to my collection. The previous owner had used them to store chalk, so I get to clean the residue of that out before I stick any a...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

Added two more .50 cal ammo cans to my collection. The previous owner had used them to store chalk, so I get to clean the residue of that out before I stick any ammo in them. Paid 10 bucks total for both cans. .50 cal cans tend to hit about 15 bucks a pop in my AO when you can find them. I also pic...

Re: Walmart Announces Several Gun Policy Changes

Well, so much for picking up a reasonably priced box of 9mm and not paying range prices for crappy reloads when taking a side trip to the range. (Something I've done a time or two when out & about running chores.) I guess I'll have to start keeping ammo in the Jeep for those impromptu range trips. ...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

And Walmart only accounts for 20% of all ammo sold in the US ? I thought it'd be higher than that. Huh. Its been exactly five years since the last time I set foot in a Walmart, so I'm actually surprised its as high as 20%. I'm kind of surprised the percentage is that high too, come to think of it. ...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Doesn't sound like they were making that much money off ammo. ;) I read somewhere that Walmart stores account for 20% of all ammo sold in the U.S.... not anymore  That's ok. Academy, Cabela's and Bass Pro will pick up the slack left by Walmart. I'm sure the online ammo sites will be more than ...

Re: Walmart Announces Several Gun Policy Changes

And I'm betting that once the higher ups and shareholders figure out how much business they're going to lose from this knee jerk reaction, they'll change their policy. Doug would not do that without top cover. So it is just the stockholders he has to worry about. The interesting thing here is that ...

Re: Walmart Announces Several Gun Policy Changes

I wonder if Walmart is going to jack up the prices on their discontinued ammo, then "roll back" the price to what it was when originally sold it and claim they're saving people money ? Or are they going to put it all on clearance and then go from there ? And I'm betting that once the higher ups and ...

Re: Walmart Announces Several Gun Policy Changes

I rarely buy ammo at Walmart anymore. The selection at the local ones is minimal and usually just stuff like Federal bulk packs and Winchester white box ammo. I'll just buy my ammo online or at Academy now. Better selection and I can actually find someone who works there to help me, unlike the local...

Re: Active Shooters Odessa Texas 8/31/2019

I saw a little blurb on the news about the shooter about an hour or so ago, so I figured I'd update this thread. Apparently, the Odessa killer got fired from his job a couple hours or so before he began his rampage. Not sure if that's what set him off and was the catalyst for the rampage or if some...

Re: Active Shooters Odessa Texas 8/31/2019

So, things we "learned" during the event that were just flat out wrong, according to the current info being given out: 1. More than one shooter (a friend in Odessa was told there were 9 at one point!) 2. At the Midland Cinergy (they were at the Odessa one) 3. At the Midland mall (I don't even know ...

The Chief is saying that he thinks there was only one shooter, the second subject is being sought but is not believed to be an active shooter. If so, it could be over.
Man, I truly hope this is the end of it.

3 officers were shot, 1 DPS trooper, 1 Odessa PD officer and 1 Midland PD officer.

They are also saying one in custody. So maybe three shooters? That's a bad day no matter how you slice it. Local news is saying at least 30 people "injured". https://www.newswest9.com/article/news/crime/odessa-shooter/513-17dbe2e0-4b2b-487e-91a8-281a4e6aa3b8 NYT says 2 people are dead and I'm wonde...

Active Shooters Odessa Texas 8/31/2019

I'm getting reports of a pair of active shooters in Odessa Texas today. Reports are sketchy at this time, but it appears a pair of shooters are targeting vehicles and people along I-20. Area businesses are on lockdown and multiple law enforcement agencies are swarming the area, looking for the shoot...

I got a new Glock 17 barrel in the mail today. I ordered it Wednesday from CDNN Sports and I got it this afternoon.
