Re: What is the best/most durable pair of boots/shoes you have RIGHT NOW...

I've had pretty good luck with the Herman Survivors brand boots from Walmart. They're only like 60 bucks, but my last pair lasted me over seven years until they wore out to the point of being unusable. That's seven years of daily wear and little to no maintenance. Ok, I have to ask, which style of ...

Re: Utah man survives for three weeks in Alaskan wilderness

A "Lucky Dumbass" thread would work for me as well, Raptor. We could use it as a sort of 'what not to do in *insert situation type* ' lesson thread. I think you have a point, that a body of "how not to survive" info might be useful. Maybe a "Survival by accident" forum, so there's a direct an...

Re: Utah man survives for three weeks in Alaskan wilderness

Do the presentations in public with the press and media invited (open bar will get them there the first few times we award it). Get ZS mentioned on the evening news a few times and we'd probably pick up quite a few new members. Maybe just some zombie-head shaped challenge coins? They could have som...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

That's kind of neat, but the grip looks a bit on the small side to me. I've got an old .45 Ruger Vaquero with that birds head grip. It's actually fairly comfortable....they make a .44 mag version, but I don't think that one would be as much fun to shoot. It may just be the angle of the gun in the p...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Just out of curiosity, how stable was the folding butt plate deal on those stocks ? Like did they have a tendency to fold under recoil or did they lock in place to prevent that ? I don't know what other's experiences are. A friend has had one for about 35 years and never had a problem with it. They...

The Samson stock for the 10/22 looks pretty neat.

Not quite sure if it's neat enough for me to drop 300 bucks on, though.

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

I solved my firing pin issue on my Tokarev today. All it took was a proper sized punch, a small mallet and a quick spray of Ballistol. Turns out it was just some excess gunk left over from when Classic Firearms or whoever cleaned off the cosmoline. The Ballistol ate through the gunk and I was able t...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Speaking of firing pins, I need to remove the one in my Tokarev, but the retaining pin is like frozen in place. The firing pin and channel are the only places I haven't given a thorough cleaning since I got my Tokarev I've smacked the hell out of it with a small punch and my gunsmithing hammer, but...

Chimp: You were right. That one place passed, but another bought it for $350. The didn't want the holster or the ammo, so I might have broke even for once . So basically Ruger took their American pistol and chambered it in 5.7x28mm? Looks like the 57 may be its own thing.... https://i.postimg.cc/1XhvbWHk/57-v-Amer.jpg Neat. Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Now I wonder if anyone has tried to make a revolver chambered in 5.7x28mm yet.

I think I may have asked that same question years ago, now that I think of it.

I bet the next thing they do is make something like a 10/22 in 5.7x28mm or maybe one of their American bolt actions.

Now that I think of it, has anyone ever made a bolt action in 5.7x28mm?

I'd like to see someone come out with a Shockwave style double barrel shotgun. Maybe we'll see that at SHOT Show next year. Why just a double, when you can have a triple. :awesome: https://www.chiappafirearms.com/uploadimmagini/prodotti_immagini_immagine_1101.jpg https://www.imperialbeachguns.com/w...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

What opines ye hurd? I haven't heard much of the .40 cal models, but I know the 9mm versions were the top sellers at most gun shops out here. Prior to picking up that RIA 1911 I had, I strongly considered getting a 9mm one with a diamond plate style texture on the slide. If I'd have had the extra c...

This probably doesn't really fall within the scope of this thread, but I received a set of roll pin punches for Christmas yesterday.

I've been meaning to pick up a set for awhile, so this was a great gift. :D
