Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Provided the gun is reliable, I think I may have to add it to my wishlist.

As for loading one round at a time, I figure someone's already working on an Uplula type mag loader as we speak. Or probably will be once the gun hits the market and had been out for a bit.

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

That reminds me, does Ruger still make the 10/22 International with the Mannlicher style stock ? I'm sitting here regretting not buying the one I found at a yard sale about five years back and curious if Ruger still makes that model. Seems like they do; a quick Google search had 'em listed on sever...

Re: What are you playing?

I'm on the XB1, Mac. I haven't played anything on the 360 in about three years. I don't use my PS3 much. I try to keep the controllers charged, so every couple of months recharge them. But I have a friend at work that every once in a while shoves a PS3 title in my hand and saying, 'you gotta try th...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Picked up an M&P 15-22. That is all. I hope you put it back down again and just got a Ruger 10-22 instead... That reminds me, does Ruger still make the 10/22 International with the Mannlicher style stock ? Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I have a friend who is getting back into firearms after not really touching any in the last 20-24 years. He is former infantry, and has recently decided he needs a gun for home defense. I've talked about a few options with him, and we will chat further (he is leaning towards a pistol, and I see few...

Re: What are you playing?

I might check out some of the other Battlefield games, but "Hardlines" is out for me. I might try Battlefield 1, the WW1 one, since I've never played a WW1 based game. I grew up playing the old Medal of Honor WW2 games (and they are probably why I collect WW2 era militaria and guns), but there were ...

Re: What are you playing?

Speaking of Battlefield games, the only one I've sort of played was "Battlefield: Hardlines" or whatever the one was called where you play as a cop (or was it a DEA agent?). It played ok, but I felt like my hand was being held the whole time. It felt super linear and didn't allow for any creativity ...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I assume that CFSAR are still using their short barreled, folding stock, Ruger .30-06 rifles. :awesome: https://i.postimg.cc/N01mKxXL/CFSAR-30-06.jpg Call me weird, but I actually kind of want one of those. Pretty they'd fall under the NFA regs here in the US, though. Still, I kind of want one.

That Mossberg pistol looks neat and I never knew Mossberg started out making pistols. I always figured they just made rifles and shotguns.

Re: What are you playing?

I've been mainly playing Far Cry 5 (I'm postponing the final mission since it sucks) and today I went back to playing Far Cry 4. It lacks some of the fun of FC5, but I also don't have to really search for enemies to kill like I do in FC5 because of the resistance gaining back territories. Also, anyo...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

One way to de-activate ammunition is to soak the rounds in a light penetrating oil. WD-40. 3-in-1. themoreyouknow I know this all too well. I screwed up about 240 rounds of 7.62x39 a couple years back by doing that. Fortunately, it was cheap Wolf ammo, so I was able to replace the damaged am...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

My neighbor's dad was a door gunner on a Huey during Nam. She's putting together a shadowbox type display of his medals, photos, etc. and said she'd love to have some brass for the display. I told her I could probably get her some dummy rounds for it and she was thrilled with that but now I'm havin...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I'm good. I'm saving up my money to buy one of those Ruger PC carbines next year. I shot the s2k and the beretta the other day. I'm going to rent one of the Ruger PCC in a couple days to see if I like it. So far, building an AR9 seems like the way to go. I haven't gotten to shoot one yet, but I did...

I wonder how that little chopped grip would handle full power .357 magnum loads.
Here's your chance to find out.

The next time I break out one of the long guns for a cleaning I need to close the blinds. I didn't to freak those people out. :ohdear: Just don't put any holes in the walls. The neighbors REALLY hate that. That reminds of the time I accidentally launched the receiver cover of my old SKS into my wal...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

If you look on the used market, I'm sure you can find a good GP100 for not much money, MP.

They're heavy, but the weight helps soak up some of the recoil of the .357 magnum loads. I think the shortest barrel GP100 you can get is 3 inches, but I believe the SP101 is available in a snubbie model.

Yeah, that's why I'm avoiding that site for the foreseeable future. It's a good source of info, but whoever runs it is allowing spammers and malware to run rampant.

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

800 seems a bit high to me, MP. Unless it comes with a bunch of ammo, I'd think it should be more around 500 bucks or so. The only GP100's I've seen that command 800 bucks or close to that are the Match Champion or the Wiley Clapp models. Last Firearms. I belong to USCCA and I have an 18% discount ...
