Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I haven't watched a Nutnfancy video in a real long time. I think the last one I watched was the one where he talked about someone breaking into his truck and stealing some stuff. In other news, I got my Geissele Super Charging handle in the mail the other day. I think I found the charging handle I'...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

Ordered a Geiselle Super Charging Handle for my AR last night from AIM Surplus.

I hope to have it in my hands within the next few days.

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Looks like I made a great choice then. Hopefully Aim Surplus will ship my order soon, but since I ordered it past business hours, I figure it might be a day or so until it ships. By the way, anyone know how to log out of Aim's new site ? I logged in yesterday to place my order and I don't see...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Well, I just placed my order for a new charging handle for my AR. Ended up going with a Geiselle Super Charging handle instead of the Radian Raptor-LT. The Geiselle was only a couple bucks more than the Raptor-LT, so I placed my order and hopefully I'll have my new charging handle within the next fe...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Thanks for the info, y'all. :D I'm probably going to place an order for a Raptor charging handle in the next few days. Are you going to buy directly from Radian or who? I've been looking into a Radian Rifle build w/ 18" barrel. I've priced out the Radian parts [Upper, lower, handguard, charging han...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

What's y'alls opinion on the Radian Raptor AR charging handle ? I'm considering getting one of their LT models from Aim Surplus, but I'd like to hear some opinions on them. I'd also like opinions on other brands I ought to look at. I know Geiselle and BCM make good charging handles and with some sav...

I vote Jeriah not be admitted and since further discussion on the subject is verboten, I'll leave that there. Didnt know that was a thing. Thank you for the headsup, I'll keep that in mind. Woodsghost pops in from time to time and I think DaveM is busy with his job as a contributor to a gun magazin...

Re: Members That Have Left Us

First off, I only put this here as the folks I'm about to ask about once frequented this section and another. The other being the survival skills section. But I figured this side would get the most exposure. I cruise through ZS intermitently, dont really have time to post anymore, and I've noticed ...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

Picked up a MagLula the other day from the local Academy.

I've got a Butler Creek ASAP mag loader and a Caldwell one, but the MagLula is a lot more user friendly than the other two. And a lot less frustrating, too.

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I've got plans within the next year or so to pick up the PC9 with the free float handguard.

Plans include running Glock mags exclusively in it and maybe selling off the SR mag adapter to buy more Glock mags. Then I'll probably pair it up with my Glock 17 and make it my third line set up.

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Cool. Thanks for the link, NT2C. You guys really aren't helping with my budgetary self-restraint with all this PC9 talk. :p I'm supposed to be the bad influence, not the badly influenced! (I've more-or-less accidentally convinced probably a half-dozen people to buy various guns.) Dude, if I'm ever t...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Nice to see some options for aftermarket stocks for the PC9. I'm really digging the looks of the Copper Custom PC9 chassis. I'm diggin' the extended mag release on the CROM chassis (hopefully their 2.0 chassis will have an ambi or reversible release)....that's my biggest complaint with the stock Ru...

Re: Climate change. World ends by 2050.

Speaking of the world ending, I think for as long as the Earth has been around, there's probably been folks going around saying "The end is coming". Hell, for all we know there probably was a dinosaur with a sandwich board that said that. Only difference is that one was right and their world ended. ...

It is a Monday so Vice is running Climate Change TEOTWAWKI again. The date is a moving target of course.
I sort of envision the climate change deal like the old Peanuts comic strip where Charlie Brown is trying to kick the football and Lucy keeps moving it just before he's able to kick it.

Re: Lost Hiker in Hawaii Found, Search Continues for Common Sense

I think we can all agree that the hiker made bad decisions. It's a good cautionary tale for people to read and think about. Not taking a cell phone. No EDC. Keeping walking for days instead of waiting could in some situations be debatable, even though that's the good advice to follow when you think...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Either or both could cause deterioration of the powder or primer, making them less reliable. Which could lead to a possible hangfire, right ? Misfire or hangfire, yes. Neither the water/soap nor the dryer heat (as far as I know) are going to make the propellant more reactive and cause pressures to ...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Hadn't thought to try and shoot it, though. I'd expect that a rimfire wouldn't seal against water very well, but centerfire HST rounds have sealer around the primer pocket and I think the case mouth too, so it may have dry powder and a still good primer. It'll be interesting to test it and see. Jus...

Re: Lever Action vs. Revolving Carbine

Somewhat humorously, someone was leaving the range with a lever when I showed up this morning. Beautiful gun: brass receiver, octagonal barrel, nice red looked like walnut furniture, and a ladder sight. Pretty sure, not certain, it was a Henry with an aftermarket rear sight. While picking my brass,...
