Re: Check your batteries, even the ones you have stored

I think this good topic should also extend to batteries in your cars, generators, cell phones and so on. Take the time to perform the checks and ensure there are no surprises on the day you will need to count on these energy storage marvels.

Re: Check your batteries, even the ones you have stored

I always hate it when alkaline batteries leak and screw up my devices, especially the ones where there is no hope of getting the batteries out because they became swollen. For critical devices or those left in storage I have switched to quality lithium ion batteries or rechargeable NiMh Eneloop batt...

Never even noticed them. Not that I'm complacent, . My planning is all about the "Big One" so whatever happens I've prepared as best as possible. They have no mission in Korea so I doubt they will go there. Having done a deployment or two as an embedded advisor just about everyone has been pulling for this for years. Mattis was also a fan of the idea which is why it finally got done.

Re: DTMF remote control

The DTMF decoders are a good bargain. Standby current is low, audio sensitivity is good, control codes can be programmed to be from 1 to 4 digits of any numeric order. The variety of relay response options are pretty good: timed closures, latched closures, momentary closures and exclusive 1-of-4 rel...

Minor corrections needed only because they stuck out amidst all of the other good words. they’re homes -...

I've wanted to put together a good - solid - hand tool (non electric!) kit for myself for a long while. Something with good gear and can cover a lot of general scenarios of repair and building. BALLiSTIC - (a Sci-Fi Action short film)

A good quality short. Because it is less than 20 minutes it leaves the viewer a little in the dark on the "big picture" and makes them think about what they have seen. This short might be tied into the stories of some of the Director's other short films. Some of the comments below the film are inter...

There needs to be air flow behind fridges. A friend had that problem once. Just an inch or two, iirc.
Yes, that is where the heat exchanger is mounted
