Re: Upcoming MilCopp Tactical Courses

How late into the fall do you hold training events?

I grew up in Columbus, family is still there, but I only get back for a week or two each year.

Re: how tacticool is your rifle?

795 if my math is correct. I've got a few changes I'd like to make to get the weight down, but I don't think they'll change the score other than to add a few points by replacing a couple existing parts with some magpul stuff.

Re: New Glock 19C

When I lived in Cincinnati my local range would turn out the lights except for a couple at the far end to let us get a feel for muzzle flash during training classes. It had more impact on my vision than I would have expected and there was a pretty substantial difference with +p+ rounds vs. normal lo...

Re: Idea's for a carry handgun?

^^ +1 on the G26 as a great concealed carry choice, but I favor the concealable control floorplates with the little protrusion for your ring finger rather than the +2 extensions. No extra capacity but really changed the way I felt about the whole "no pinky" situation and grip length is a problem w/ ...

Pic from when I first mounted my YHM rear. Also has a YHM front sight. Another pic in the down position in the "hot or not" thread (pg. 29). I like them. No complaints. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3231/2982923008_7862dea9b3_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3184/2982067863_47912ff079_b.jpg

Crossbreed. Got mine about a week after my order. Crank down on your belt a little and the weapon vanishes.

That group on the bottom left looks pretty damned good, save for the flyer. Which shot was the flyer in that 5 round sequence?

Re: Why would you NOT buy an LED Light?

I'd love a couple of beater 3AAA lights that are brighter than the common $5 lights. Thanks! The Coast LED Lenser Tactical lights are worth looking at in the 3xAAA arena. Lowes sometimes carries them. I've got 7 of them modded with Seoul VO LEDs, but even stock they have pretty great output. Should...

Re: Why would you NOT buy an LED Light?

Only incandescent I use anymore is on the far right in the pic below. It's a mag85 and was the first flashlight I ever modded/built. Everything else in the pic, and all the others not in that pic, are LEDs. Mostly seoul and cree emitters in my lights. I tend to look for VO bin seouls as I prefer a w...

Re: 5 massacres in 3 weeks. Let's discuss what this means for us

I do like how the article mentions people's ideas about gun control is "surprising" given recent high profile killings. Certainly gives us insight as to the authors convictions. Between a poor economy, increases in perceived/real threats, and an expanding government, people seem to be yearning for ...

Re: Regarding Coast Flashlights??

I currently own seven modified Coast Lenser lights. They are fantastic. Bought them from flashcrazy over on CPF. I've got more exotic lights with bunches of function. I've got way higher power lights. But not a single other model gets as much use as my coast lights because I don't mind abusing them....

Re: About batteries

I use Sanyo Eneloops whenever I can, largely because of their low rate of self discharge. In my personal experience, these are the rechargeables I can count on to be ready in a moment's notice. My others require I have a day or two heads up so I can rotate them all through the chargers. The eneloops...

Re: Best most durable medium length knife for AROUND 120?

I'm a little late to the discussion, but I own both a custom RD7 based knife from Justin and an older Ontario RAT-3. The RAT-3 stays in my GHB. It's a great little knife for moderate duty, and keeps a great edge, but the RD7 would be my pick if I could only have one. My RD7 is polished 5160 with 1.5...

Re: Glock 26 Range Report

Nice report. I love my G26. Only put a few hundred rounds through it so far but it's been perfect. I'll echo the comments about it being surprisingly accurate for such a compact weapon. Only modification I made was to add the concealable control floor plates to both of the 10rd. mags. They make a di...

Re: Ordered my Supertuck this week. LINK added

I use the standard clips so the holster is supported by the gun belt and not by my pants. I ordered the J-clips as well in case I find a situation where I need them, but currently I prefer the stability of the standard clips. When did they switch to steel clips? I received mine just a couple months ...

Re: Internet gun buys

I concur with the above. I'd add that I like to talk to the seller on the phone so I can get a better sense of who I'm dealing with. Sometimes I pay before sending the FFL, sometimes after, but the bottom line is that you at least need to have talked to your FFL holder to make sure they are aware of...

Re: wow....anybody need 9mm!

Did anyone think they were really going to get this ammo for this price? To me, it was obvious that it was a pricing error on their part, and they're not under any obligation to take it on the chin and lose a shitload of money by selling ammo for less than it costs them to buy it. Unfortunately the...

Oh I am pissed now. Just talked to another customer service rep who was at least sympathetic. He said the letter says it is because the vendor will not sell SG the ammo at...
