Re: Buddy (A dog's view of the ZPAW)

Just read this and I want to say thank you for an excellent story. My allergies really kicked up at the end making my eyes real watery and making it hard to read the last couple of paragraphs. Lots of people have dogs. Until you have a small dog, like a Chihuahua, you will never know Dogged Determin...

Re: a Price For Every Head

Thank you for an awesome story. I have just read and lurked, but I have enjoyed this from the very beginning and look forward to any more stories you have in the future. I enjoyed your epilogue as well. I have recently started playing RPGs with my son and I enjoy the backstory of the character part ...

Wow thank you!! And now the horrible waiting game. Thankfully you don't pattern your writing pace after George Martin's.

Re: Boots vs Shoes

If your happy in boots keep with them. Shoes are the preferred footwear for most thru-hikers. I have just started hiking in the last few years and have done research and light weight running shoes are what most go with. I do prefer boots in cold, snow or rain, but love my Vasque Juxt for all other t...

Re: Entry level recurve bow?

I've got into archery with my son with JOAD and scouts in the last 2 years. The Sage is the absolute best way to start, it can be had for $110-130. I would recommend you get anywhere from 25-35lb pull, you can move up and you want something you can send 100 arrows down range without killing your arm...

Re: Help find belt carrier for kids hiking

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I may have found one on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/261301483906?lpid=82&item=261301483906&vectorid=229466" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I may pick up the Condor/Maxpedition for myself for short hikes. We did a couple of hours in a local re...

Re: Help find belt carrier for kids hiking

We actually have that, but he always gets tired of carrying it or it gets too hot so I end up carrying it. I thought something they can throw on their belt quickly and something small would be better for them. This http://www.condoroutdoor.com/ma40-009_h2o_pouch_A-TACS.aspx" onclick="window.open(thi...

Help find belt carrier for kids hiking

I am trying to find something my 10 year old son and his Cub Scout pack could use for hiking and carry the Scout essentials for hiking, namely a water bottle. I've seen the Condor hydration carrier, but it is a little big for 8-11 year olds. I would love to find that with a smaller water carrier. Th...

Re: Stupid Little Things That Hurt Like Hell

i broke my hand at 3 places, it hurted , but not that bad since it took me 2 day's before to go to the hospital, i also broke my wrist, that was more painful but my worse pain came from the fall i did with my bike , i felt on my elbow and managed to scratch the "funny bone" if you know what i mean,...

Re: WORLD OF WARCRAFT: ZOMBIE SQUAD GUILD!

I have been on the wagon for about 2 years. My guild was growing stagnant and a huge drama club. I left which was more drama, I wanted to raid and our guild was stuck at the entry raids which I was past. It got to the point that all I was doing was WOW, I had to stop. I really would like to find a c...

Re: Doomsday Preppers (2nd) 02/07/2012 Nat Geo

I liked the setup with the new england couple. It's VERY close my ideal, except with more goats/goat cheese, pigs/homemade prosciutto and of course rifles. Basically a self-sufficient permaculture eco-hippie with a well stocked gun locker. As long as you've got the guns, it does sound ideal. That c...

I have never seen a bigger douche in this board. The only immature comments I have seen have been yours. And your little story of the mentally challenged is extremely insulting, disturbing and inapropriate on so many levels.

Re: Transporting a gun in California

Thanks for the replies. I hated the thought of traveling so far unarmed, especially since we are driving straight through. I know people that would carry anyway, but as a fresh CCL holder, I prefer to keep it, not see a courtroom. I also plan on not having any interaction with LEO, but you know best...

Re: Transporting a gun in California

I am taking it on our drive from OK to Cali. I have my CCL and all the states but Kali honor my OK CCL, so for 4/5 states of our trip I will legally armed. I have been lazy about buying a car safe so I will be using the hardcase that the gun came in. I will prob have the ammo in the original box. Do...

Re: Transporting a gun in California

I am headed there next week and plan on ccw my Walther PPS. Before hitting CA I plan on unloading and locking the gun and mag in the case; and have it and the ammo box in my bag in the trunk. Both in different pockets of my bag. Anyone seeing any problems I should avoid? I will store it at my sister...
