Thanks - if I get busted in NYC, I'll have bigger problems than my lockpicks, BUT, it's good to know.

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

I just purchased titanium credit card emergency lock-picks from CountyComm (similar to credit card survival cards) where in an emergency you can twist the picks out of the card and use them. www.countycomm.com titanium lock pick manipulation card - seems like just the thing to keep in your wallet wh...

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

I just recently had need of a new leatherman - I used my outdoor store credit card points to get the leatherman charge-Ti - nice tool and no complaints (since it was "free" ) but if anyone is thinking about these get the Surge instead - same basic tool, and $60 cheaper... That's what I had before an...

Just got a AAA O-light (streamlight knockoff?) from Amazon - awesome little light! Got it to replace an older streamlight (nice AAA light and very happy with it) that only had one setting, this has High (super bright) and low 5 lumens (just enough!) I am really impressed with this cheap little light...

Re: Alternatives to Chapstick?

Carmex is a wonderful product - but they make different kinds which should be used for different purposes ... The one in the tub is less of a protectant, and more of a cure (the stick one is more like chapstick...). The one in the tub with all the menthol and salacylic acid is best used before bed t...

if you guys/gals are worried about carrying your pack to the gym, they do make weight vests that add 25 lbs (for the one I got filled with sand packets- you could use lead shot to increase the weight) However these tend to look like suicide bomber vests so you that going for you... it's not the same...

I just bought a used NAA Gaurdian 380 for $230 plus $20 transfer... A lot heavier than the Kel-Tec or Ruger LCP, but stainless steel and has a nice feel to it... Nice backup or deep carry piece ... or "just cuz' !"

Fun short, but Earth is a sealed system (more or less) there will always be water unless the entire atmo boils off... It may not be where we want it, and we may have to de-salinate it, but there is plenty on the planet.

Re: Not Ideal Weapon in the ZPAW

I took the Colt. Enough power to take a deer, dog,or small creature, as well as a man/zombie. Light enough (I assume I'm walking 250 miles) and the ammo is lighter as well - less weight for gun = more weight for food/gear. No holster ? tuck it in your belt, or make one out of string/paracord. The onl...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Whelp Argentina is in default again. I guess we will see how this one unwinds: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-07-30/argentina-defaults-according-to-s-p-as-debt-meetings-continue.html Technically this is a default on the restructured bonds which means in effect it is a default on the default. Do...

I have the wave, an old Supertool , 2 wingman's and an older gerber model. The supertool rides on my belt at work, and is my favorite, hands down. The wave is stuck in my jeans pocket when not at work, a very nice tool, with one hand opening ( it's only plus over the super tool in my opinion...) I r...
