Wife Swap? The survivalist episode.

Has anyone seen this episode? My MIL is watching Wife Swap online and the episode has a survivalist/SHTF/TEOTWAWKI family swapped with a NYC designer's wife. Clay and butter tooth paste, eating only raw food, not cleaning the house. The SHTF parents blame cooked foods for illness, think germs are "o...

Re: ALICE Pack and Sleeping bag/shelter: How are you doing it?

Finally got around to getting pics. This roll only has the bivy and the green bag, but you can easily find a creative way to store the black bag. http://inlinethumb32.webshots.com/20767/2006525950058660536S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb08.webshots.com/23239/2284374300058660536S600x600Q85.jpg http...

Re: ALICE Pack and Sleeping bag/shelter: How are you doing it?

Ok, here's my take. I've done this a lot when only using one of the bags. I take the stuff sack and inside put the green foam mat. so that the bag stands up. Tighten the sack up so it fits to the outer dimension of the green pag. From there take your sleep sack and buvy and just shove it in there. T...

Re: Want to find a similar product V. organizer pouches

I saw these 5.11 organizers over on SKD Tactical and added one to an order. They're $5 and shipping is $5 flat.

No, the mag pouch is dual black sheath/mag pouch on the left shoulder strap. The gray thing is a Ka-bar Mule sheath I use for my multitool.

Re: My EDC/Man Bag w/ Pics

Well I don't go to bars or clubs (never have, never will) so no worries there. The only place (other than places where it's illegal by law) I don't carry is my site, because carrying there would be bad juju. Other than that, I've never gotten looks or harrassed for mag pouches. Part of it was there...

Re: My EDC/Man Bag w/ Pics

I can't compare it to the maxpedition as I've never seen one in person, but I like the 5.11. It's not a bag I drag with my in the woods, but it's held up really well for throwing it in my car and dragging it around. Give me a few minutes and I'll upload pics of the inside. I'm betting the first resp...

Re: My EDC/Man Bag w/ Pics

Well, I'm not sure what state you're in, but here in NH I have a CCW. I'm legally able to carry here, and on occasion open carry with no trouble. As for your "security guardness" I'm not sure what company you work for, but mine (big name) would fire you in a heart beat for taking proactive measures ...

Re: Bugout flight canceled? Get a MiniMotel!

I spent a night in MKE, and 2 fulls days in O'hare. Never once did I want a small tent to sleep in. I like knowing what's going on around me and watching my stuff. Also, both times I ended up hanging out with girls from my school. I'd stay awake the entire time so they could sleep. I would watch our...

Re: My EDC/Man Bag w/ Pics

I had thought about that at first, but decided that fast mag changes are more important. That and the small single stack mags of the P6 are almost perfectly covered inside the pouch. The 1911 mags are almost as hidden. I've talked to others online that are doing the same but with double stack mags w...

My EDC/Man Bag w/ Pics

This is not a survival bag or something designed to keep me alive if my car breaks down in the middle of my 7 minute commute to work. This is just stuff that I keep with me in the car when I go to work. It also doubles as a handy bag to carry my CCW off body when I got to work. My bag is a 5.11 P.U....

What does PAW mean?

I know what all the acronyms stand for: BOB, GHB, TEOTWAWKI, SHTF, etc...
I just can't seem to get what PAW is/stands for.

Ok, a few questions about this bag. How big is it?
How durable is it? I need an assault pack for when I'm not using my ruck, would this fit the bill?

Low profile VS. high profile gear???

Hi, I'm quite new on here and I have a question. Looking around I see people talking about not being noticed. Someone on here built a concealable chest rig for AR mags, but how useful is a low profile chest rig when you're toting an AR. Another member told me to ditch the 3-point sling on my shotgun...

Re: Alternatives to Glow Sticks

I have one of these: http://www.lazerbrite.com/ It's the LB2. I bought one at Ft. Lewis and its great. They're bombproof and have replaceable batteries. It can be used as a candle, flashlight, and lightstick. You'd have to watch the video to see how versatile these lights are. The only thing I'm not...

-Blackhawk Omega VI Ultra Holster Find something a little more subtle. Or you'll get unwanted attention. If you are bugging out, you won't be the only one. Legal hassle at that point you don't need. >Pack: Ebelrestock Gunslinger (coyote) That's nice. That would make me wonder where you other long g...

Re: Setting up my bug-out kit, advice?

I used chose the thigh rig because I won't be able to carry a sidearm on my waist, and I sweat A LOT, and I'd like to avoid a chest rig if possible because of that. What I'd consider is the Blackhawk STRIKE bandoleer http://www.blackhawk.com/product1.asp?P=37CL81&C=C1266 . I have a 5.11 chest rig, b...

Re: Alice Pack vs Hiker Backpack from REI or Northface, etc.

I'm gonna throw something out there about the ALICE. Mind you I haven't learned all of the tricks for it yet, and I'm sure I eventually will, but... Some packs are good, and some suck, no matter how you set them up. I had a pack at Ft. Lewis that no matter how I adjusted the straps, bent the frame, ...

Setting up my bug-out kit, advice?

I'm building a kit for SHTF, SAR, hunting/camping, exploring, etc... I'm keeping this in my trunk in SHTF mode, but will subtract things if the situation is planned. I also plan to eventually have another bag which will attach to this with winter gear in it and a set of snow shoes. This kit is proba...
