Re: Cooper; new stuff added 12/24/2018

So, the drive is going to have to be sent to a specialist, so to speak. If it works, it will be expensive, however, I'll have my writing back.

That being said, I'm over my funk. I'm writing. It might be a bit, but l have an idea.

Thanks to everyone.

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 12/24/2018

Damn... that’s not good Doc. Crashed-crashed or just the computer? Many places can plug in your drive to recover files and some can even rebuild the hard drive as long as the plates aren’t damaged or magnetized. We went to a solid state (no plates) for our home backup (mostly old pics that we digit...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 12/24/2018

My storage drive has crashed. I lost everything.

I'm trying to recover it. There's literally a lifetime of work on it.

Sorry.

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 12/24/2018

You see what happened was.... What happened was, the tale I wanted to tell became a Big Thing. Then it kept growing. So now I'm looking at it and going, "This is getting bigger than I wanted." So I paused it to let the whole story ferment for a bit. Then my storage drive started getting wonky and I ...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 12/24/2018

I'm actually working on a story now, but it has taken on a life of it's own and the story I was going to tell, while still there, is part of a thread I didn't expect to happen. Maybe this week it will be posted.

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 10/03/2018

Dixie sat under a blanket on the leather couch, watching as Isaac fussed with the lamp to light the living room. The bay window that looked out over the lake reflected the yellow light back into the room. The moon and stars made the lake look silver, and beyond the lake, the few lights of the town w...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 10/03/2018

Isaac and Dixie sat in the almost empty restaurant as the police chief and the insomniac officer conferred over a table of evidence. Most of the evidence consisted of their pistols, the bandit’s pistols, and a half full jar of moonshine. Barney—Mike—stood nearby, staring at Isaac and Dixie, unsure i...

They stepped into the diner to find it full of people sitting at benches behind tables and in chairs which had been pulled out to line the blank spaces between tables. There was an air of awe and appreciation in the room as the listeners sat gazing at the mousey looking woman who was stroking the ke...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 10/03/2018

“What were you thinking for food?” asked Isaac as he toweled off. Dixie, already mostly dressed from her turn in the outdoor shower, was shimmying in to a pair of jeans. Isaac loved to watch her get dressed. Watching her was like a burlesque in reverse, right up until she buckled the gun belt around...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 10/03/2018

As an Australian friend of mine is prone to say, "Merry Christmas, ya cunts." Isaac paused in his efforts at sawing apart the downed tree to stretch his back and take a break from cutting the big tree into fireplace sized logs which could then be split for warmth during the winter months. Casting h...

You know how you plan to have something ready for the Holiday and you get it done, and you read it and you go, "It needs more?" Well, I have something done, I planned on posting it, and I read it and I went, "It needs more. It needs some more body, it needs some more understanding." This weekend. I'...

Doc,

Your writings are great....

Was up until 3am last night and finished the remainder of the story this afternoon....

It is good to be semi-retired....

Thank you....

Texican....
You are welcome, sir.

I hope you were sipping on some Balcones while reading...!

Okay, so the Manhunter, Issac, I've thought about him some... I've actually thought about having Cooper (or someone) head that way to set up a trade route or something, I've got a couple independent stories started about Issac, just a few paragraphs here and there, so I could probably cobble somethi...

Thanks for the complements. I enjoy writing for you all. Sanjana reined in the horse. It was blowing hard, having made a difficult climb up the snow covered lane to Lyle’s house. She patted the animal as it shook its head, the bells on the bridle jangling and chiming in the crisp air. It let out a huge fart, as if it wanted her to be sure the animal did n...
