Re: Mossberg 500 based home defense setup

Because it's one of the absolute best threads ZS has to offer: The Defensive Shotgun: How We Make It Work Thanks, man. I need to update that thing. My recommendations, just 'cause; Esstac shotgun card or three, a light, and a sling. Sights are a matter of preference, but don't get too fancy. It's a...

Thanks, man! I found a bunch of typos and word switches myself after posting, but as an excuse, l had a time l wanted to post this by, and l was running up against it putting the final chapter together. Sometimes I have to give myself a deadline or l ramble on. Glad you like the secondary characters...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 04/11/2017

The magistrate pounded the gavel to bring order to the court. Court was held in the church, since the old town hall was not big enough to contain all the people who had shown up for the event of the year. The balcony was occupied, the pews were packed, and there was standing room only in the back ne...

Re: Cooper; new stuff added 04/11/2017

There was barely light in the room when Boone and Josh were awakened by firm knocking on the door to their room. Boone recognized the knock. Anyone who had spent time on the shady side of the law knew the firm, consistent pounding and what it meant. For a moment, Boone was transported back in time, ...

John Todd had looked over the horses and the mule. He had acted like he knew what he was looking at; indeed, he had milk cows and beef cattle and goats and chickens and pigs and hogs and acres of wheat and corn and gardens of vegetables and fruit trees, along with all kinds of helping hands in the f...

She gave them rooms off the second story balcony. Boone and Josh settled into the rooms and both men washed the dirt and dust of the road off their bodies in the deep bath tub. Boone lost the Paper, Scissors, Rock battle and had to take his bath after Josh. Boone gathered up the makings of his pipe ...

Sorry it took so long I was working on tree different stories for this, and this was finished first. Enjoy Boone reined in the horse and leaned on the saddle horn, his eyes sweeping over the valley below. The trees were green and heavy with leaves in the summer air. There had not been any amount of...

Ah, Doc.... just reread this series for the third or more time. I am hoping you may have some more of the Cooper world to share. Really excellent tales.

Re: the Defensive Shotgun; How we make it work--MilCopp Blog

Cooper once flippantly said he used a shotgun "loaded with silver dimes."

I don't know about the bird shot. I'd never recommend birdshot to anyone for anything other than birds.

Hahaha, I have it started, I just haven't had time to work on it. My job changed, so the hours went from 10 hr days to 12 hr days, with the days off being 6 instead of 3. But along with all my other supervisor duties, I'm involved in the training and classes for In-Service and firearms, so I'm worki...

Sorry these are so short, I'm getting back into the feel of the characters and writing between other things. I still don't think I quite have the flow of Jesse back, but I'm working my way through the other stories to try and find his voice again.

Jesse remembered during the months he was in prison, the Latin gangbangers would play their music over the tinny speakers and make jailhouse tamales out of bags of Fritos and douse them in hot sauce.
