Re: ZSC:016 informal event

There is a preparedness network that has a meeting coming up August 24th for a lunch potluck, meet and greet, and a preparedness equipment swap. I'll be heading up there to see what people bring and to meet some other preparedness minded people. If anyone else is interested I can get you more detail...

You are new to our system so I would strongly advise you to read and understand all of our rules, particularly those regarding the discussion of illegal activities. Scavaging is often theft, and theft being an illegal activity we do not disc...

ZSC:016 informal event

I'm checking to see if anyone wants to do something informal just for some preparedness or hobby time. My current thoughts are something outdoors or something indoor to dodge the heat. Outdoor- fishing at High Falls state park off I-75. Could be a 1 day in and out thing or they offer camping. We cou...

Great work. I don't have time for much participation, but please let me know if we're doing anything other than LARPs. :)
I'll make a post regarding some ideas in the near future.

2019 Check in

Hello ZSC:016. Posting in the thread to see who is still out there. I'd be interested to find out how everyone has been doing and how their preparedness for a possible zombie invasion is coming along.

Re: I joined the club

I do feel EMS is the most underpaid work I've seen myself. Not saying others aren't out there, but being in the medical field myself I always wondered why I get more than some of those guys. It's not an industry you get into for the money.

Re: Dealing with picky eaters

We have one child that is slightly picky at eating and one that eats everything she is given. Fortunately for us the picky eating isn't too severe. He will gag on something he doesn't like, but nothing beyond that. With him we prepare food, if he doesn't like that food it goes into the fridge. When ...

Re: I joined the club

Congrats on passing your NREMT. I took it once in 2010 and recently took it again in 2018 while being an LPN. I always felt there is a difference between rattling off medical facts and critical thinking regarding decision making with varying information.

Re: November 2017 - Checking in

I've been working and training. I leave this month for a deployment to the Middle East so I have put most my projects and hobbies on hold. I am getting some pretty good training though. So I don't know for sure how much internet access I will have but I'm guessing I'll have it pretty often. Anyone e...

Re: Challenges to raising self-sufficient kids

Lucky for me we moved to a very rural area down in the very conservative bible belt. So everyone's daddy either has guns or he isn't allowed because of his meth abuse/domestic violence history. With that country lifestyle we get away with pretty much all "prepping" activities. The only thing that re...

I didn't go though it sounds good. I'm just getting ready for DragonCon right now to be honest.

Re: Chiappa Pak 9 SBR build

That last part of your post is my problem. I go to a range that is run by DNR so there are DNR staff present at all hours. They are pretty strict about most safety rules which is ok with me. Some rules they are overly strict on are things such as firing faster than 1 round per second. I have a frien...

Re: Chiappa Pak 9 SBR build

I would certainly recommend SBRing a Glock over that. With a long slide and extended barrel you could get the same velocity, shave about 4lbs off the gun, better one-handed use, shorter OAL, more aftermarket support, and by snapping off the stock you would have a handgun. something like this: https...

Chiappa Pak 9 SBR build

I've been checking out the Chiappa PAK 9 for an SBR type build. What has me interested is that you can pick this up for less than $500 with a Glock adapter from Atlantic Arms. You can then put the Sig AK brace on it and have a carbine that takes 9mm Glock mags. Then, I can do my ATF paperwork to thr...

Blue Bird Blue Grass Festival

So does anyone have interest in attending the Blue Bird Blue Grass Festival at Dauset Trails in Jackson GA? We attended last year and had a really great time networking and enjoying the festival. It is April 22nd. Here is a link to the website for the venue. http://www.dausettrails.com/
