Re: 2012? The End or Not?

There are various interpretations. A lot of the texts were destroyed and some of what we do have is illegible. I've never heard that the Mayans believed that the earth was a square held up by jaguars. I'd be interested to read more about that. Constellations are still in use to help us quickly ident...

Re: The Best Z-Day Plan Ever

You think that you're the only one that knows about them now.... Just wait until everyone else who thinks that they're the only one who knows about them shows up when TSHTF. If these caves are on your land then you probably want to preposition some supplies.

Let us know how your son does. I'd be interested to find out how much of this hubub is sensationalism and how much we should actually worry about.

Re: 2012? The End or Not?

Info on the galactic alignment thingy. This is the first link that I came up with but I've heard similar explanations before. December 21, 2012 has been called doomsday, the day of enlightenment, and even the day the earth will turn upside down by many different culture and civilizations throughout ...

Re: Dead Frontier

*yawn* I keep getting cornered and smacked down when I'm clearing buildings. I've probably lost around $2k or so total so far. I try to do missions but I have no idea where I'm supposed to go. The game is fun for an hour or so but it gets repetitive really fast. Not recommended.

Re: ZOMBIE NATION ?

There's a cool little game called Dead Heat by Two Hour Wargames. You're a survivor and you have to lure your group of undead around a track faster than your opponents (and not get eaten).

Re: Apocalypse Z game terrain and figure pictures!

I just got the Better Dead than Zed rules from Two Hour Wargames and have been working on my own little zombie hunting force. I second the idea that heroclix are perfect for this game. You can pick them up for next to nothing and the line includes everything from civilians to gang bangers to beat co...

I haven't bought anything gun related for at least a year. The prices are too damn high. Glad I stocked up before everything went nuts.

Also, Tree of Life? Is this guy for serious? Oh, it's so poignant and ironic and I'm avant-garde now! This isn't that kind of art. I know this, because I see that kind of art all the time. In fact, I am probably going to see a shit ton of it tonight. Crap made by rich kids in art school who've take...

Re: Thinking about an sks, any opinions?

SKSs are great budget rifles. Even at today's prices you can't find anything else with their features for nearly as cheap. They're pretty accurate, extremely durable and very reliable. I'd sure as hell rather have one of them than a Mosin (although I own both).

Re: Zombie tabletop games

I finally got the rulebook for Better Dead than Zed and played a couple of solo games. It's awesome. The rules are very easy to understand and they make for a smooth, fast paced game. The rules also leave a lot of room for some RP. It's kind of like a story is unfolding as you play. The "top secret"...

Re: Zombie tabletop games

I just ordered Better Dead than Zed . They also have a supplement book called Haven with rules for military bases, gang hideouts and survival retreats. From what I hear this is the best zombie tabletop game out there. It looks good at first glance. I should have it by next week. There are no officia...

Re: The Zombie Diaries

When was it horrifying? There is one scare 10 minutes in and then its some fools running arround the woods for the next hour before we're randomly treated to a finale of rape, torture and murder. You completely missed the point of the entire movie. Put your head back in the sand and continue to be ...

Re: The Zombie Diaries

You're comparing this movie to Saw? You might as well throw Hostile in there while you're at it. I just can't watch this movie and see it as a snuff film. It's a movie about a bunch of average people who are thrown into a "worst case scenario" and just try to do what they can to survive. Their paths...

Re: The Zombie Diaries

Hmm debating if it is worth a netflix rental... Go read KayGee's and my reviews on the page before this one.... Or better yet, go give a videocamera to a mentally handicapped monkey for an hour and watch that. It will have a better plot, characters, dialogue, and production value. You must not watc...

Re: The Zombie Diaries

OK I watched it again. I'll try to keep my synopsis as vague as possible but I'm sure that there will still be some spoilers. I would highly recommend that if you're interested at all in watching this movie that you do so before reading on. If you do read on then hopefully it won't ruin a whole lot....

Re: The Zombie Diaries

I bought it and watched most of it but passed out and missed the last 20 minutes or so. What I saw was a HELL of a lot better than 99% of the zombie movies out there. I liked what I can remember a lot. The camera work wasn't THAT bad. I thought that Blair Witch was a lot worse. I'd compare it to Clo...

Re: How many blows to crack civilization?

If there is an event that completely wipes out civilization then you won't want to survive. Many times in human history events have slowed us down or pushed our progress backwards for several generations. I dunno about you but that's what I prep for. An event that breaks down law and order or destro...

Re: Thoughts on Urban Survival; VERY Informative!

When every bite-victim becomes another zombie that craves my tasty brains, then I am certain to be happier living in the boonies than amongst 10,000,000 potential shamblers, all crammed tightly together.... When infrastructure and services are interrupted/collapse, I would rather not have to count ...

Re: Zombies attack while you are at your unfinished BOL.

Finished or not I would have everything that I'd need to hold out for a while. The first thing that I plan on doing when I get a piece of land is to bury a 55 gallon drum with a month or two worth of supplies stashed. Unfortunately, if I was working on my BOL at the time then my wife would still be ...

Re: Home Gardens in 2008

My tomatoes are growing but most of them aren't ripening yet. I have pulled off a few small romas but a lot of them are getting black bottoms and I'm not sure what's causing it. My cucumbers are growing like crazy but I've only got one fruit going so far. Out of 8 bean plants only one of them is sti...
