Re: armblade?

The main probem I see is that you can't use your wrists, meaning you will pack less of a punch than with a nomal sword with the same reach. You will also have less freedom of movement and be in deeper shit when it gets stuck somewhere. But at least it looks really cool.

Re: Trial biking

Why jump a bike over a fence if you can simply carry it over? Besides, you can't take much luggage if you want to pull stunts like that. Awesome sport, but a survival skill?

Re: Any other way to test a weapon other than cocunuts?

Watermelons have equal consistency to the human head. Watermelons are often used to demonstrate the destructive power of a fighting robot or a special kung fu technique or anything supposed to be really destructive. They use them for those purposes because they splat so nicely. Generally, when some...

Re: School Attack?

School, luckily that's history. What I would/should have done in case of a zombie attack back then: get the hell out of there. The floor level had lots of windows, no way we could have stopped them. The doors of the rooms where weak enough too, plus you could sometimes open a locked door them just b...

Re: so my guns where seized and destroyed

Wow. I'm not someone who would go through all the trouble of sueing someone, let alone the government, quickly. But yeah, sue them. Attorney's are expensive, but perhaps you can cut the costs a bit by finding things out yourself and contacting the NRA.

Re: Titanium Crowbars

They are stronger than steel but I wondering if the 40% decrease in weight will make them less effective as a weapon. They will be lighter so less of a pain in the ass to carry around than your traditional variety and they won't rust. It's worth noting that Titanium isn't, in fact, stronger than St...

Re: Blowgun Question

Blowguns are really cool and all, but they need poison, which means the person using them must know how to use the said poison. The way they they catch monkeys with these things in South-America, that's awesome, trying the same thing without poison is as much of an overkill of subtility as trying to...

Re: Swords or axes?

Zombie movies generally aim for the idea of people being caught unprepared, making stuff up as they go. A sword, while often laying around conveniently in other movies, is seen as too fasfetched for a zombie-situation, an axe might be found in a hardwarestore or hanging arround as a fire precaution....

Re: The Perfect Fortress

The resupply thing is an issue for any "offshore" hideout, which is a pain because they would be the best places to avoid zombies. Old seaforts, oil platforms, large boats would be the best places to hide out, but you would need to find a way to become self sufficent since you cant eat fish all the...

ok, totally noob hypothetical question coming in 3...2....1.... if you were to amputate right away, would it be beneficial to let some of the infected blood "bleed out" a little before applying a tourniquet? flush the wound a bit? how long would it take someone to die from blood loss from a severed...

Re: Ostrich farming?

Pssst Those roast turkey legs they sell at the state fairs aint Turkey. They are either ostrich or emu depending on the size. Both those birds have very strong legs, almost all useable meat on an östritch is in the legs. That would be quite a snack on a 100kg östritch, even on a 25kg nandu/rhea, an...

Re: Ostrich farming?

If I wanted to raise an animal that could kill me without much thought, it would be alligators. Lot less embarrassing to die by gator, than an overgrown chicken, plus they make nicer boots. However, an ostrich cavalry does have a certain appeal in a Final Fantasy sort of way. [motivational poster] ...
