Re: Club Call Sign

If you build it they will come! I'd just start working on creating one and then set it up.. Someone needs to be trustee of the callsign.

Re: Dedicated ZS Echolink node?

Someone needs to apply for a club call.. It's pretty simple to do.. Should be issued pretty quickly.

If we want a vanity call then its a little bit more work..

- Get club call assigned
- Then choose a vanity callsign
- Then apply for vanity callsign and wait.. Takes about 18 business days

Re: ZSRC Logo

Send me a direct message. I have a company I have used in the past. They are pretty good and 1.00 each patch depending on how many patches you order type of thing.. (Not sure if this has to go through ZS Admin or not and sold through them?)

Re: Dedicated ZS Echolink node?

If we have a club call I'll see what I can get done. My friend is the owner of the Great Lakes IRLP stuff. http://glirlp.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If we had something we'd like to establish on an open spot on IRLP I could probably chat with him about getting permission for ...

Re: would you join in on a weekly net?

General but I don't have easy access to HF.. Echolink / IRLP would be the way to roll. There are a lot of net's these days that are internet based and connect to the radio on various repeaters. If you need an IRLP reflector I am sure I can get access to the 9616 West Michigan Privately Owned Repeate...

Re: Do you do ARES? *Should* you?

Gary is very correct on what he is saying. Each program is different. The ARES / RACES program I run has 82 members has a Search and Rescue team as part of the program, works in the EOC and has our own space in the dispatch center. We donate close to a million dollars in value each year to the count...

Ignore the asshats. Do it because you enjoy helping.

If you let the elder ham's and the elitist's bother you then its time for a new hobby.

Don't forget Ham's will eat their young. :)

Re: Communications - Integration into a load bearing system

As a ham that uses / carries a radio everyday / everywhere and makes use of it all the time I get several friends asking for help like this. I have a ham friend who took his VX7 with him on deployment. We bought some superflex rg58 coax and then bought him a high gain tri-band antenna. We took his g...
