Re: J-Quake

I have a sister over there in Tokyo atm, I been unable to get a hold of her ever since I heard about this. It's really damn rare for her not to respond back. My wife's family is in Sendai. Still no contact with them either. Google set up a people finder http://japan.person-finder.appspot.com" oncli...

Re: My ongoing S&W Sigma 9mm review

I have one and was put off by the trigger for a few range sessions then it finally smoothed out and now with close to 3000 rounds through it not one failure to feed even when I try to limp wrist it. Not bad at all for the price, but I polished the hell out of the feed ramp which helped with some ear...

Re: Dave Canterbury

Dave and Cody have been working on the show Dual Survival together for Discovery. First episode airs June 11th. I have had the pleasure of meeting him in person at Dirt Time 2009 where he was an instructor in the Path Finder System and Tracking. He is a really nice guy and helped me make a Flemish b...

Cooking Bacon

Well we all (or at least most of us) love bacon so why not multitask and get in some range time while cooking some Bacon goodness. :D

There is a company based out of Columbia that makes level 2 clothing. I saw their product at the show show. Give me a few days and I will dig out their literature packet.

Re: PREP FAILURE: THE WALL OF SHAME

Went to Front Sight for a class. I knew that a big rain storm was coming in on Sat so On Friday I didn't pack my light rain jacket (brought two to test them out) and they would not let you shoot with anything that blocked drawing the weapon from the holster (had a nice thick warm water proof jacket)...

Re: SoCal - Charity Volunteer Effort and Campout (July 18-19)

Yea I am getting ready to give a talk on Urban Survival. I am so not a public speaker so this should be different. That combined with so much crap: torn tendon in my foot, car problems with both of them (I am being my own mechanic due to being broke), CERT training (Search and Rescue) and teaching a...

Good to see you guys are getting something together. I have been busy with my local CERT Group. I am on the planning committee and since we are starting with nothing it has been interesting. I am sorry I will be missing out on this weekend’s fun. With my foot being messed up and my van having proble...

Re: SoCal Events

Sorry don't know too much about Pasadena just go there for bow making. As for what road, there is no one perfect road out of the LA area. It would take some time but check with google maps all of the roads you want to take, check for over passes and other landscape issues. I recommend getting some m...

Re: Mom's Journal of the Zombie Years

Kathy, I know it sounds weird, but have you tried nasal washing you know the nettie pot stuff. My wife has a long list of allergie triggers and it helps her greatly in conjuction with her normal meds. Nasopure has a little bottle that is pretty nice.

Re: Box o' Food

You can explain the box of food very easily to your girlfriend. Fid out if she has ever been in a store right after or before a disaster (earthquake, flood, winter storm, etc) ask her about what was still on the shelves. Listen to her. Then ask her “what if” she went to the store tomorrow to get the...

Hope you feel better soon.

SoCal Archery Feb 15th 2009, Followed by Beantown

On Feb 15th there will be a gathering in Pasadena for archery. There will sometimes be a group flint knapping, knitting, making gords, or carving wood spoons. There is always arrow or bow making going on and three of the regulars were part of the group that wrote (Tim, Steve, Tom) The Traditional Bo...

Re: SoCal Events

PaleHorse the meet starts anywhere from 9 AM to 11 AM. I usually get there between 10 and 11:30 depending on how late I was up the night before or if I pre-loaded the van. The ending time is whenever. Most people leave about dark or a couple of hours before. Here is a map http://www.rovingarchers.com...
