Re: Marines Get to Pick Glocks in Preference to to 1911s.

MARSOC trains indigenous forces, which have by and large been issued the G19 for whatever reason. The tool fits the task. I don't think you'll find a lot of Glocks in Marine holsters any time soon; the pistol has been issued a stock number, meaning that it is available for acquisition.that doesn't n...

Re: What was your first pistol?

My first pistol was an Iver Johnson PX22(?); it looked like a shrunken PPK. Put a bunch of rounds through it, mostly one at a time - it hated anything but Stingers. Then the slide cracked and there was no warrantee, so it went into the nearest river in pieces. My next pistol was a S&W Model 39-2. A ...

Re: What is your faviorite Defensive Pistol Caliber

I prefer 9mm; I shoot it faster and more accurately than a bigger caliber, and I get a lot of them!

Re: What is Your Favorite Gun?

I'll play:

Pistol - have: Glock 19 want: Sig P229, no rail
Revolver - have: S&W Model 10 4" want: S&W CS-1 fixed sights, 3"
Rifle - have: M4 want: AR-10

Really want (but will never be able to own/afford): MP5SD, M4 with a "fun switch" and a Berretta 93R.

Re: Can't decide on bug out weapons. Help?

My selection would be:
- Glock for the handguns; can't kill them
- AR for the long gun; ability to reach out
- Mossberg for stationary "artillery"; devastating at close range.

Re: How often do you switch up your EDC?

My knives might change every once in awhile, but I rarely, if ever, change my EDC pistols. The reason; muscle memory - I know where they are and how they shoot. I've never understood the whole "Gun du 'jour" thing...

Re: Defensive longarm for a homestead in Alaska

My choices would be an FN-FAL or an M1A, in that order. Both weapons are proven designs, both in 7.62mm for good range and terminal power, both are semi-automatic and magazine fed for quick follow up shots and reloads if necessary, and both are very manageable to shoot. Another good point is that bo...

Re: Considering a Double Action .357

I concur with most of the replies; a 3" stainless, fixed sight GP100 is about the best all-around .357 available. And a Colt Python is the best 357 if you can find one. My CCW is a mid 1966 +/- Colt Python, blued, 4" bbl. It was often carried, seldom used and I won't piss ya'll off wi...

Re: E&E belt kit

I never saw nor looked for a supplier in the US, when I came across that one I'd already checked out ten others and had made my choice. In my opinion its worth the cost, which really isn't that high anyway. In my experience, the Oscardelta belt is the one to go with. I tried four leather belts with...

No problem, here's two links but the price is almost identical. Mine came in about ten days give or take, link one is where I bought it. It was $32.51 including shipping. http://www.oscardelta.co.uk/SERE_Belt.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.hettykat.com/outdoor-surviv...

Re: What's your "firearms philosophy" for your battery?

Simplicity of use and care, familiarity with the platforms and intended use. I have downsized my "collection" in the last few years to the bare basics I see necessary in my AO: - Rifle #1: M4 Semiauto - I am intimately familiar with the platform having spent eight years in the military. The round is...

Re: What was your first Handgun?

My first handgun was a S&W 39-2; 8 rounds of 9mm seemed pretty good at the time (1982). Next to the Browning Hi Power, that gun was probably the best feeling gun I've ever held. Wish I still had it :(

Re: Newspaper posts your name, address, and that you have gu

The bad news is that all that info is public record and available to anyone who wants it. Its a poor decision and a punk move for news organizations to do, but recognize it for what it is; a publicity stunt. Newspapers are an almost dead media. They are grasping at straws for any kind of readership ...

I've got a S&W Model 10 with a 4" barrel that is an old police gun and has a lot of personality (and a sweet trigger :D ). I also have a Ruger Blackhawk that was my fathers.
