Re: LAPoliceGear.com what a joke.

I got another email about their latest labor day deal, so I went back and price checked the pants and looked at a jacket too. This particular deal UPS was cheaper than USPS. But separately USPS was cheaper, still higher than it was three weeks ago.

Re: LAPoliceGear.com what a joke.

I buy a lot of stuff from LAPG. CS is great to deal with, I've cancelled orders with no problem and had questions answered real quick. Shipping - look at it this way, $12.00 to run from CA to my state WV, and in about a week. Not too shabby! I believe LAPG uses UPS more than the other guys, least t...

LAPoliceGear.com what a joke.

I got an email from these guys about their 12% labor day sale. I thought it was good chance to order those operator pants. I had ordered some on Oct 5th. I placed the order and used the required coupon code and I was surprised by the price. They have increased the shipping by 12+%. On October 5th I ...

Re: A question of AK Calibers [56k Unfriendly]

My advice is to do a price comparison: each rifle + 20 mags for it + 5k rounds for it. Look at the numbers, then buy whichever one you want. I'm not current on mag and ammo prices for 5.45mm but I believe you can get good surplus 7.62AK mags for $10 each and ammo for $200/case. So $1200 for mags an...

Re: A question of AK Calibers [56k Unfriendly]

I am purchasing an AK74. I like the idea of lighter ammo and less recoil. I have already purchased a couple of thousand rounds. The corrosive nature of the round does not worry me too much. I mean lets face it, if it was good enough for the Soviets, it is probably good enough for me, Joe Average. I ...

Re: Home based FFL assistance program?

Well I'm skeptical on this, however it makes me wonder. What is the deal behind this?: http://www.ffl123.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Seems hokey, and I'm really doubtful that it's as easy as this guy makes it sound. From what I have heard it is not all that difficult to get ...

Re: Kung Fu Shooting

I can see how somebody may incorporate firearms with martial arts. I mean a lot of martial arts were done with weapons. However I don't think this is quite it. I sure did like the double " I'm going to put a cap in your @$$" sideways shooting. That there has some practical applications. You guys nee...

Re: I wanted to run my idea by you about purchasing an AK 74

Unless you get the Arsenal SGL-31 or better, don't bother with a '74. Those rifles from Atlantic are made by CAI, who use really soft and out-of-spec barrels. If the rifle doesn't keyhole when you get it, then the barrel will wear out after 10k or so rounds. Not to be a Doubting Thomas, I have neve...

I wanted to run my idea by you about purchasing an AK 74

I have been doing some research on my next rifle. I have been saving for a while to buy an AR. CDNN has a very great deal on a Colt 6920 and I was about to bite the bullet and I changed direction. I know that the AR guys are going to jump me for this, but I just like the AK platform better, so to ea...

Prepare for the future with a piece of American history

I am selling part of my Colonial America Collection. 1791 Great Britain 1 Guinea, it is .917 Gold, .2461 AGW, when I bought it, it was graded at VF, but I am no expert. I would sell it basically at spot plus a little change. I was thinking $375 and I would take care of the Shipping. http://i268.phot...

Re: Hard times selling some of my Gold and Silver

In my precious metals investing, I always prefer to get coins and various other collectible items to hedge the value of the precious metals. So with that said I am also selling 2 First day covers. The each have a sterling silver medal. One is about a 1.5 inchs in diameter, the other is slightly smal...

Times are rough and I need to sell some of my silver and gold. I have a couple of auctions on ebay. Every year I look forward for volunteer tomato plants. No matter what kind of tomatoes I was growing, the volunteers are always a cherry tomato style. They always taste great and the plants grow with a vengeance.

Just tried rubbing alcohol. It worked surprisingly well as long as you were wanting to light something on fire. If you wanted to have light to see, fat chance. The flame is blue. However it lights easily.

Makeshift Pack

This may have been done before, but I came across it on another site. A fella was talking about an old man he knew as a child, who taught him how to hunt and trap. This man used a back pack made out of an old pair of jeans. He had a zipper sewn in the waist band so that he could close it up tight. T...

Well I don't have a blower on the stove. It really cooks the main living space. I have been using the furnace fan to circulate the heat around the house. It works very well.

Re: I decided to put in a wood stove this year. (pics 12/12/09)

Does anyone know how practical it would be to buy a used, older stove? I like the look of the older ones but I don't know if it's a good idea from a safety perspective. As long as the stove is sound, it should be fine. Now I hope you like to either buy lots of wood or spend all your time cutting. T...
